Like everyone else here, I'm sick of the bullshit rumors and supposed "scoop" from "inside sources." So, I took matters into my own hands and just E Mailed Ed's porn star / publicist / girlfriend at her website with the following message. I know good and goddamn well it won't do a bit of good...but fuck it.

Dear Janie,

As the publicist for Eddie Van Halen, I would think that of all people, YOU should be making some kind of announcement regarding the statust of your client's supposed upcoming tour / career. Enough is enough already. What IS the deal? If the band is at ALL in contact with the internet, then I'm sure they must know that all of the underwhelming publicity surrounding their "comeback", not to mention their silence regarding the "postponement" of the tour is actually killing any and all hope that the few remaining fans have. In other words, the band, as well as you is dropping the ball.

AS, major kudos for writing to Janie and giving her the low down on what's happening in many eyes of the CVH fans (or of those that are left?). After all, we are the "investors" - without us, no ticket sales. We determine who big, how small the venue really is. A PR should know this and YES, it's a whole lot different to represent a legendary band vs. Ron Jeremy & Tera Patrick. Apples v. Kumquats.

Silencing the rumors about the delay, should be a priority, despite the underlying circumstances of the delay. VH is becoming the laughing stock of Rock, both in the media and fan base.

The longer VH waits to make a statement, the fan base is losing hope, momentum and any iota of excitement to attend the Summer/Fall Tour that "Will Happen", and then there are those who done left the creek, cuz it already ran dry.

Thank you, bantonelli. You're right, as an investor for over 25 years now, I feel that information on the product in which I'm investing should be made readily available. I never thought I'd see the day where I actually had to DEFEND my love for CVH. This is just unreal. If, Janie actually DOES read the E Mail, I'm sure she'll just delete it immediately. I get the feeling she knows absolutely NOTHING regarding the history of this once unstoppable band. It's just a paycheck for her...something she probably doesn't need now since she's leeched on to EVH.

As an investor myself, it's about time we start seeing some dividends payoff. As history has shown, the market always rebounds and investments are usually long term deals-the higher the risk the bigger the return. However, the bigger the risk the bigger the loss. So I think it's time for VH to rebound and correct itself and start paying their lont time investors with a nice return.

Yup, I did the same. I sent off an email in the hopes that , in some small, tiny teeny way it would make an impact. I have been a member here for some time now, all be it rather silent. But it does not exclude me from being a fan. I still feel from all the rumors and this site(NOT THIS ONE INPARTICULAR) said this and that site reported that, ROTH and the Van Halens have not been seen on tv, heard on the radio or seen and heard on the internet commenting about a tour being put on hold, attending the RARHOF, just an announcement about Roth and three Van Halens doing a 40 date tour. I grew up listening to this band for almost 30 years. The RARHOF is next Monday and that's what I'm benchmarking the Van Halen Reunion on. It'll be a crime if they don't show up or play. I think all of our questions will be answered and rumors put to rest...on that note:

A lot of speculation and a lot of new updates are now appearing in relation to the Van Halen alive again in 2007 news started here a couple of weeks back.
Late last week celeb gossip site TMZ.com posted news of the band and who would play bass. Today G4TV ran a quote from band publicist Janie Liszewski confirming that news.
I called Liszewski for a confirmation of these comments. She happily obliged, stating that yes, Wolfgang Van Halen was the band's new bassist, suggesting that this wasn't news, as it was stated as such on Howard Stern by Eddie Van Halen in September.
She also confirmed that the Van Halen trio - Eddie, Alex and Wolfgang were 'busy in the studio, rehearsing and writing'. The rehearsing of course is for the aforementioned 2007 tour that the band's management are currently shopping to prospective promoters.
No confirmation as yet of the vocalist for next year's Van Halen tour - but as stated in my original report, David Lee Roth is the singer that is being included in the package offered to concert promoters. I'm told Roth has not yet visited the Van Halen's in the studio.
