    Yup yup.....

They were an underground band for the first 5-6 years they were recording.....

the sound of 80's College radio......

At least they haven't pulled an EVH an basically told their fans to "fuck off"..........though...judging by the SHEEPISH response to the entire "EVH-Rehab" fiasco....maybe they should?

C'mon guys and gals; lets not be so harsh on Ed.

By not going to the RRHOF; Ed is "giving you the fans; the 110% you expect and deserve.."

Yeah..we DO expect 110% bullshit from you; wouldnt have it any other way pal.

R.E.M. wasn't commercial until they left I.R.S. Records in favor of Warner Brothers at the very end of the 80's.

The release of "Green" with the single "Orange Crush" signaled the end of their "independence" and the beginning of their commercialization.
I said the 80's. So you have to agree with me. They became commercialized in the 80's derderder.

        Green
        Release Date November 8 1988

But I am not going toi argue that I said R.E.M. became commercialized in the 80's and that 1988 is still obviously in the 80's and some people are arguing opposite. It is still R.E.M. and a that Aids looking Michael Stipe. They will be inducted right after Van Halen's inducton and no one but Sam and Mike show up and the last word one of them say is, "Get well in rehab ed." laughing off stage. Then the biggest surprise jumps on stage to play R.E.M. and here is the song changing words "the world" with "Van Halen"

By the looks of things last night...I'd say he would be better off taking a drink right about now.

I try like hell to keep things all fluffy bunnies and pink daisies. But brutal truth smacks me in the ass all the time.

Sad but true. The era of the guitar god is a thing of the past, IMO. But hopefully, in a bedroom or a garage somewhere, a kid with big dreams is revolutionizing the electric guitar in a way we've yet to see.
            There HAS to be.
