Did Ed fail tour insurance med exam?

OK, a lot of people don't know it but before a major band goes out on tour, everybody has to pass a physical exam. Remember, this is major money we're talking about and if a star can't complete the tour the investors lose their cash. I'm guessing Eddie went in for the physical and the doctor sidelined him... probably the best thing that ever happened to him. I have a hard time believing Ed went into rehab of his own free will.

Hell, they couldn't even check for alcohol since its legal. But I actually think that this is plausible.

Live Nation pulled the plug because they're smart business men and saw the writing on the wall. They knew that in Eds condition the chances of a total tour melt down was likely and they refused to take that chance - period. Ed probably relized that if he didn't get his shit together real soon than he would never be taken seriously again. Besides he would probably end up dead in the not to distant future.

Valerie Bertinelli was not going to let Wolfie go on tour this summer unless his father knew what the hell was going on and wasn't in some drunken stupor. Also, Wolfie needs to be cleared to work for Live Nation for the tour, he is under age and needs to file working papers

Sounds like a logical combination, given Eddie's language of things within his control, and things that aren't.

I figured Wolfie's age had a lot to do with it. Of course now that he is 16, he could be legally emancipated, and as a touring musician with a major rock band, he would have no problem convincing a judge that he could support himself.

I actually don't consider it outside the realm of possibility. As much of a mess as Ed's been in the last couple of years, there may be a big sponsor underwriting a potential tour, and they want to make sure they're not pissing away their resources on a band whose lead guitarist might be found face-down and room-temperature in a hotel bathtub from alcohol poisoning. The stakes (and the payoff) are too big. And Van Halen with Dave ain't your ordinary bear.
