American Idol Roth/CVH rip offs!

There were two CVH/Roth rip offs on "American Idol" last night. I say rip off because neither the singers nor the show cretided the arrangements to CVH and Roth. Sanjaya Malakar (uhum..cough..loser) performed "You Really Got Me" ala CVH. Phil Stacey performed a carbon copy of DLR's version of Tobacco Road. No credit was given to Roth at all. I'm sure the judges must have heard the classic versions of both songs. Who the fuck hasn't? It pisses me off that the idol perfomers make it seem like it's their own arrangements. This is not the first time it has happened.

As a rule? I'm not sure, but they should. If you watch the show, the judges are always encouraging the performers to make the "song their own." Last year there was a controversy regarding a performer claiming his performance of a Live (the band) song was his own.

It was truly horrible.....

I've never watched American Idol before in my life, but last night I had some bizzare cable outage going on. Internet was totally down and the TV only got local channels, so I watched the stupid shit out of pure boredom.

The gay Indian dude (he makes Cherone look butch, seriously) started out singing the Kinks version horribly, and somewhere around the middle switched to such a painfully horrible interpretation of the Van HALEN version that I almost wished it was Sammy Hagar for a second.

Of course then I heard on the radio this morning that there's an organized internet movement going to make sure this fag wins the competition because he's the worst thing on the show. I forget the website, but it seems like a great way to get that fucking show off the air!

It was cool that Simon told Phil he didn't have enough grit in his voice to do Tobacco Road. Dave's voice is perfect for it.

Also that little shit doing YRGM made me wanna puke. No idea why he is still on the show except that these 9 year old girls have cell phones now and they keep voting for him.

I like the show mostly due to Simon who shits right on these people and they have to stand there and take it. LOL. Makes for some good entertainment. He is usually spot on with what he says, IMO. Its funny when he verbally bitch slaps Paula too.

I just think it sucks when some talented people like Stephanie (last night) and Sabrina (a few weeks ago) get thrown out and this little no talent of a boy is still on there because the pre pubescent girls think he's dreamy...

Simon should be the ultimate judge, IMO. They should really let him tear into people. That kid would have been reduced to tears and sent packing long ago.

My favorites from the beginning were the 4 black women. And two of them are already gone.

None of the guys are that great. I like Blake because he has his own style at least. He is not up there to immitate anyone. I think he is the most creative. I'm just not a fan of that sound per se...but I think its cool that he's doing his own thing. I wouldn't mind if he got a contract.

AI is the greatest show that ever called out the worst in America. I only watch the very beginning of each season because I love the first auditions and the "make a complete ass of myself" factor. It's a sick, sick world out there boys and girls.
