Keith Richards snorts his father's ashes?

Over the years, The Rolling Stones have made headlines all over the world for their crazy rock and roll lifestyle, with Keith Richards leading the way in errant behavior. As The Rolling Stones guitar legend has ingested a wide variety of drugs throughout his life, Keith Richards recently revealed that after his father passed away he even snorted his ashes.
NME reports that in a recent interview with The Rolling Stones legend Keith Richards, the wacky rocker admitted that he once snorted a line of his own father's ashes. In the exclusive interview, which will be in this week's edition of NME magazine, Keith Richards, who is famous for his superhuman ability to consume massive amounts of drugs over the years and still be alive, revealed that he wanted to give his old man a unique send off after his cremation. Richards elabroated, "The strangest thing I've tried to snort? My father. I snorted my father. He was cremated and I couldn't resist grinding him up with a little bit of blow." If you are wondering what his father would have thought of Keith's behavior if he was still alive, Richards reveals, "My dad wouldn't have cared, he didn't give a shit. It went down pretty well, and I'm still alive."
Continuing with more from the NME interview, E Online reports that Keith Richards also revealed what his worst ever drug-binge story was, just in case fans didn't feel the snorting of Bert Richards' ashes was strange enough. As Keith Richards explains in the interview, "It was when someone put strychnine in my dope. It was in Switzerland. I was totally comatose, but I was totally awake. I could listen to everyone, and they were like, 'He's dead, he's dead!', waving their fingers and pushing me about, and I was thinking, 'I'm totally not dead!'" Even after all of the illicit narcotics that Keith Richards has gone through in his time with The Rolling Stones, which should have killed him a long time ago, the 63-year-old rocker admits that he doesn't feel invincible and has, "no pretensions about immortality-I'm the same as everyone else-same as you, same as everybody, I'm the same old bastard, just kind of lucky."
As Richards has recently gone the way of a sober lifestyle, Keith also discussed how it has affected his wild rock star image, "I was number one on the Who's Likely to Die list for 10 years. I mean, I was really disappointed when I fell off the list." In the past few years, however, there have been a number of British rock stars following in the recreational pharmaceutical footsteps of Keith Richards, chief among them rocker Pete Doherty. Keith Richards offers up a bit of advice to Pete Doherty and his current drug addled path. "My advice for Pete Doherty is that he should shut the f--k up and leave [Kate Moss]. I don't know the man, all I know is he's pushing his luck and there it is, but so is Kate, who I know very well." Turning his attention to Pete Doherty's on again - off again supermodel girlfriend, Kate Moss,
Keith Richards explains that Kate Moss will be fine, it's the bad boys of rock Moss hooks up with that have to be careful. "Kate wants to play with bad boys, and she's done one, and then another one, and then another one. Bada-bing, bada-bang, bada-boom. She'll live, the boys will die...I did it because that was the way I did it. Now, people think it's a way of life." At the end, Keith Richards offered up an insight critique of the British music scene, which included the Arctic Monkeys and Bloc Party. "Everyone's a load of crap."
Maybe it is the residual effects of long term drug use, but nothing seems to be slowing down the 63 year old rock legend, as Keith Richards and The Rolling Stones are gearing up to hit the road for another European leg of The Rolling Stones' A Bigger Band Tour this June. Before Keith Richards returns to the tour circuit, he will be featured in the third installment of the Johnny Depp pirate adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, which opens on May 23. Keith Richards plays the father of Johnny Depp's lead character, Captain, Jack Sparrow.
