That link has a varied plethora of links with article snippets that give the information on how the Music industry is challenging Congress to help them get paid per song on internet radio streams.

Most of the articles claim that the streamers say that this will put them out of business.

The music industry labels and corporate moguls are slowly putting themselves out of business.

It sucks, but at the same time I can't help but smile a little because I'm sure that we're finally seeing the end of untalented rich kid music.

Maybe if they had charged a fair price per CD, as the cost of production dropped to a fraction yet prices remained high or increased, they wouldn't be in this predicament...

Got no sympathy far as how piracy affects the entertainment industry as a whole.

Too much emphasis on profit, product marketed as art and a general standard of swill being poured out from television, music and movie studios over the last twenty years.

Shouldn't have to pay anything to see/hear such shite the FIRST time around...am talking Spice Girls, Milli Vanilli, According To Jim, Friends, Britney Spears, Will and Grace, anything involving Rosie O'Donnell, TMNT, NKOTB, Backstreet Boys...a limitless parade of crap shoved in our faces and ears by the media.

These entertainers should feel lucky someone even wants to bother with their...er...'talent'.

The problem is the record companies following, and building up, trend-music which gives them short-term sales but loses out in the long run.

How many new bands who have been big in the last 5 years will still be here in 20? I'm guessing none. Sure the record labels have short-term sales, but they will never have the bread and butter back cataglogue sales that bands with longevity generate.

That's the problem of promoting style over substance.

Just buy used music for now at your local mom & pop store, unless it's from some musician that you really give a fuck about or it's an indie label.
