If the lineup doesn't include at least Dave, Ed and Al, nobody is going to go near it. VH is done with Sammy. Anyway, Sammy is too busy trying to be the new Jimmy Buffett.

Frankly, I just don't think Eddie even cares anymore. I think he had a brief moment of clarity with the realization that Roth's the only way out of his shithole (a moment of clarity tempered with the Michael Anthony insanity...Eddie's never totally clear and coherent).

Did the promotional photo...figured "Fuck it" when the RNRHOF shit went down...hid in rehab for a few weeks and I doubt we'll ever hear anything more about it.

I'd be HIGHLY surprised if any of those fuckwits ever get their shit together. They've all known an original reunion was the only option since 1996, the MTV reception PROVED that beyond a fucking doubt.

That's 11 years running and it's STILL not happening.

Stunts like that are the reason that tour went down in flames.along with the fact that nobody bought their " were tighter than ever " bullshit song after the nasty break the first time, people knew that it was about the cash and not a "real" tour and band arrangement.
For years, promoters have said that the ultimate show will be BOTH singers with van halen.
Everybody gets thier own tour bus, Dave opens the show with classic VH, 20min intermission, Sammy comes out, they play all the "Van Hagar" era hits, brief interlude while they take a Piss and then all 5 Yes, all 5, sammy ,and Dave, plus the other 3 hit the stage for an encore. im a fan of good music I dont really give a shit who is singing as long as Ed is playing guitar! I support Eddie 110% but firmly Blame him for most of the current crap the band has been through due to his delusional thinking courtesy of drugs and booze and mismanagment from the git go. No, the Van Hagar reunion was doomed long before word of Eddie's problems got out.

The writing was on the wall at their second show in Hershey, PA on June 13, when just 11,345 turned up to the 21,572 capacity venue. And only 7,596 showed up to the 15,573 capacity HSBC Arena in Buffalo, NY on June 14.

The problem was a lack of interest in a Van Hagar reunion.

In Australia, the BOBW album lasted about 3 weeks on our official ARIA top 50 album chart, peaking at about 36. In contrast, GNR released a compilation at the same time that made the top 10 and spent about 6 months in the top 50 (with no new material or US 'reunion tour' to promote it!).

The rock world wants a CVH reunion, or at the very least Dave back and working with Eddie again. One of the all-tme great songwriting partnerships in rock n'roll history.

Not the uninspired, bland, dumb rock of the Van Hagar years.

Van HALEN will never, ever open for Van Hagar. That shit could fly in 2002, because it was Dave & Sammy on their own and neither has exactly had a stellar solo career, at least as far as the bean counters measure it.

But you add the Lying Dutchmen and Sauce Boy into the mix, and it becomes an entirely different scenario.

IF a Van HALEN/Van Hagar combo tour ever happenned, Sammy and the Chedheads who worship him would have to accept that Van Hagar is the opening act. Not alternate nights. Every fucking show on the tour. Because it is Van HALEN which continues to sell records. It is Van HALEN who continues to get daily airplay on classic rock radio. It is Van HALEN which inspires the teenagers today who are smart enough to look beyond the American Idol/Recycled Rap/Creed/Fallout Fags/bullshit rammed down their throats.

But I doubt the tour would even happen under that agreement, because frankly, the Lying Dutchmen ain't Bruce Springsteen. They ain't gonna make it through a 3 - 4 hour show, and they ain't cutting the Van HALEN set to 90 minutes to make sure all the cheese ballads get in.
