I don't understand the fascination with the White Stripes.

Is it because I can't play or write music?

Its Blues based rock recorded with the same technology Robert Johnson used. Other than that, there's not much to it.

I used to think they were riding on residuals of the "low fi" trend. Right about the same time, I figured they were a cuntbined successful result of the low fi/indy trend.

Eventually, I laughed my ass off @ the lyrics to "Hello Operator." Next thing I know, the well-respected fucker from Red Kross takes it upon himself to add his own bass tracks to a whole White Stripes album!

Yadda-yadda...it's all subjective.
