I don't understand the fascination with the White Stripes.

Is it because I can't play or write music?

Its Blues based rock recorded with the same technology Robert Johnson used. Other than that, there's not much to it.

Intersting, full of good tunes and moments of full out rock.

But he's not the new messiah, the new Hendrix or anything like the hype that they receive.

          Very good, but not great.

            Who knows?

I used to think they were riding on residuals of the "low fi" trend. Right about the same time, I figured they were a cuntbined successful result of the low fi/indy trend.

Eventually, I laughed my ass off @ the lyrics to "Hello Operator." Next thing I know, the well-respected fucker from Red Kross takes it upon himself to add his own bass tracks to a whole White Stripes album!

            Yadda-yadda...it's all subjective.

I like em mainly cause they are from my home state. And everyone over in Michigan loves loud simplistic rock.

Fact: The last song in this medley is a re-work of a song called "John Law." The Mighty Flat Duo Jets re-worked the same song, without adding lyrics....see, there were no lyrics to begin with. Standing on the shoulders of giants....
