I'd say just about every big hair band of the day with maybe the exception of Motley Crue but I cannot even say that since they were influenced by CVH.

As for the CVH and DLR. God fricking knows. DLR is really into some reinvented old music.

Basically any band in the 80's with a blond lead singer and a guitarist with any abilities at all wanted to be Van HALEN.

And they all failed. Including THIS sorry assed band......

    That was PANTERA.

    But this is Pant-HAIR-a!!

(pay close attention to Dime in this video, and the Eddie influence is obvious. Even if the band itself sounds more like Def Leppard in their better days.)

the Bulletboys were great but, definitely one too many lessons taken from the CVH boys.

but, what about an LA Band called Roxy Blue ?????

these guys tried to blatantly rip-off CVH.

However, they sucked real fucking bad !!!

Lot of those (primarily) LA bands Van Halen influenced just ended up being somewhat slavish yet substandard copies of CVH.

At least you can look at a band like Pantera, where Dime was clearly influenced by both EVH and Ace Frehley, yet he took that influence as a starting point towards creating his own style.

When I wake up in the morning
And the alarm gives out a warning
And I don't think I ever make it on time
By the time I grab my books
And I give myself a look
I'm at the corner just in time to see the bus fly by
It's alright 'coz I'm saved by the bell
If the teacher pops a test
    I know I'm in a mess
And my dog ate all my homework last night
    Right alone in my chair
She won't know that I'm there
If I can hand it in tomorrow it will be alright

Coming soon...Who Influenced CVH and Dave.. [/B][/QUOTE]

How 'bout Black Oak Arkansas for some CVH influenece? Jim Dandy? They had an old tune "Not Fade Away" that was a classic in it's day. I really think the influence came out in the WACF album....Fools, TYWH....etc....etc. Dave took that approach to a whole new level, in my opinion. Going pretty far back--may have been a cover for all I know....Good stuff though.

The influence isn't really noticable, but I saw a picture of the room of Green Day's Billy Joe when he was a teenager & he had this poster on his wall.

On a side note, Monkey Boy's drum set-up looks pretty fuckin badass in this shot!
