Would love to hear Eddie's tone on Yankee Rose but I'm sure he'd never touch it.
Any other DLR songs that you'd love to hear Ed play if they ever tour...

Drop in the Bucket---Relentless---Big Trouble----Experience......also would be cool.
Not an original, but Tobacco Road could be cool
He would never do it.
He never played any Extreme songs when Cherone fronted.
If he did though, Drop in the bucket would be my choice but to be honest, I think he would struggle to pull it off.

Agreed---Eddie could work some magic on that cover....For sure!Originally posted by fe_lung

But he DID play "I can't Drive 55". And if he can play that piece of shit, why not "Yankee Rose"?Originally posted by Plexi Head

He almost owe it to Dave to play some of his shit...
that's only because van hagar only had 1 album of material and eddie wanted to minimize the amount of dave-era songs they played on that tour, so they filled out the setlist with a hagar solo tune or two.Originally posted by FORD

but, since a reunited van halen would have 6 albums + the 2 best of songs (and maybe any additional new songs on a pre-tour album/best of release), there would be no need to fill out the setlist with dave solo tunes.
and there's no way i think eddie would want to add a solo dave song by itself. however, if dave agreed to sing a van hagar song, i think ed might agree to it. (of course, there's no chance dave ever does that...)
still, IF eddie played a solo dave song, i agree with "drop in the bucket." good one to get ed's take on.
No way Ed plays any roth solo songs cause
no way Roth plays any Van hagar songs

^^^^^This links says they played One Way To Rock up to '93 and I Cain't Drive 55 up to '92...
Two terrible fucking awful tunes. Rock n roll jokes.
VH sisters (and son) play what Roth tells them to......2 or 3 Dave tunes + the Classic VH and Zero Van Hagar shit----No discussion or no tour. Dave holds all the cards-------Don't be fooled! Wait and see......Originally posted by Polk High

Page/Plant '95--Percy sang a Coverdale/Page tune...so, hey ya y'all, ya never know...
WELL,percy and pagey are well known for playing covers and claiming them as their own.
"boogie with stu" by led zeppelin="ooh, my head!!" by ritchie valens.
same song, they just changed the name. ritchie's mother sued led zeppelin for copyright infringment and she won. percy, jonesy and pagey have to pay her the royalties for every copy of "physical graffiti"
that sells. they are still paying the valenzuala family to this day for that mistake.
I'm well aware of that, homeboy. My point is Robert Plant hates David Coverdale, claims he stole from Percy a whole lotta...but Page/Plant still worked up,"Shake My Tree," live in '95...Originally posted by ace diamond

Ooh My Head was stolen from Ooh My Soul by Little Richard.
be that as it may, the valenzuala family owns the copyrights. and besides, led zep copied the ritchie valens song, not the little richard song. go listen to them both again.....i think you will find some distinct differences between little richard and ritchie valens.
ooh, my soul and ooh, my head.....while the names are a little close, are not the exact same song. they are not note for note, word for word the exact same tune.
however, boogie with stu and ooh,my head are the exact same song, word for word, and note for note.
as to plant hating coverdale......i don't blame him. david coverdale is an asshole.
however, a good song is a good song. and shake my tree was a damn good song.
Hell Yeah!! That's why I hate it when cats or kitties complain about Van Rothin' playin' a cover tune...a good song is a good song is a good song...Ize don't care if yer mammy wrote it!!...Originally posted by ace diamond

Page said something funny about this subject in an interview Ize cain't remember where...somethin' like Robert was always supposed to go back and change the lyrics...he never did and it got us in trouble...he also said something about the people that sued them usually sued them over the lyrics...not the music(as in Whole Lotta Love and You Need Love don't sound similar musically)
Originality is the art of concealing your sources.
Well considering Yankee Rose is currently on Wolfies Myspace page - who knows.
Roth Army Militia
i say keep it to cvh material
and yeah you dont want any spambo shit
Althought EVH has been known to do a cover or 3, he would never do any Vai or Becker tunes because t hat would be degrading to him as a "Guitarist". That is like taking a step down for him....
He might play some Dave tunes (i.e. California girls , which is a cover in itself), but he WILL NEVER play a single tune that Vai or Becker played on.
With 6 albums of great material?
Doubt it.
The Power Of The Riff Compels Me
never gonna happen..Eddie wouldn't play any of it...although i agree Tobacco road would be awesome, and its a cover so maybe that would happen
Ya know, I don't see them playing Dave's stuff...because they can't! However, I could see the curtain dropping while "California Girls" is playing.
anything from eat 'em and smile would rock!
This space for rent.
I agree, that with all the GREAT classic VH material there is not need for any RLH.
No doubt.Originally posted by binnie

Would be hard enough figuring which CVH tunes to leave out of the setlist, never mind making room for a Roth solo tune.
Asking Ed to play ROTH Solo is like asking ROTH to sing "Dreams" or any other American Greetings lyrics from the VH-Spamella collection.
I say Dave should do the setlist and the sisters should listen...
Just like in the good old days!
I wouldn't really want them to play a DLR solo album song because it would have to replace a song from the 6 pack. If they did play a DLR song I'd probably like to hear Yankee Rose.
Their are so many good songs from the six pack that it would be stupid to leave one more out for a Dave song

I think they would sound good doing Yankee rose
If they did do a dave song i would hope it was Yankee Rose but it would be better to stick to their normal stuff.
how bout some "new" material??
Gary has stated many times that Eddie asked him what Extreme songs he would like to play live. Gary refused to do any and asked Ed to play more CV stuff.Originally posted by Plexi Head
