    E-mail from the fan club:
    Tesla says "Thank You" to their fans and their Rock and Roll Heroes with the release of "Real To Reel," their 6th new album of studio recordings available in stores on Tuesday June 5th.

    In conjunction with the album release, the band is also excited to announce the start of their 1st worldwide tour in over 15 years, "Real To Reel 2007."

    The tour premieres in Santa Rosa, California at the Wells Fargo Center For the Arts on Thursday, June 7th.

    Tesla will also be offering a VIP ticket experience at a price expected to be around $250. The VIP experience will include seats in the first few rows in venues with reserved seating and early admission to venues with general admission, access to the sound check the afternoon of the show, a private Meet and Greet with the band immediately following the sound check, and a VIP messenger bag filled with goodies.

    The band has launched a new web site for information specifically related to all things "Real To Reel" at:
    www.teslarealtoreel.com

    Currently, you'll only find the official press release announcing "Real To Reel" and the forthcoming tour, but stay tuned as additional information will be coming soon.

    As most of you already know, "Real To Reel" is a 25 song Tesla-Fy'ed tribute to their favorite classic rock songs from the late 60's and early 70's. It was recorded using a vintage Neve console directly to two inch tape for a warm and punchy sound not heard on very many records made today using computers. All of Tesla's original Geffen Recordings were made this way and the band felt going back to this way of recording would keep the spirit of these songs as classic as the original versions by the bands who originally recorded them.

    In the US, the retail version of "Real To Reel" will ship to stores with a 13 song CD inside entitled, 'Reel 1.' The package has been designed to hold 2 CDs and has an empty slot for a 2nd disc entitled, 'Reel 2.' Reel 2 is a 12 song bonus disc that will be given away free with the purchase of a ticket to any Tesla headlining concert during the "Real To Reel 2007" US tour. The CD is packaged in a multi-fold Digipak with a 16 page booklet that includes liner notes for all 25 songs. When you get home from the concert, simply place your free 12 song bonus disc into the CD purchased at retail to complete the set.

    4 of the new songs from "Real To Reel" are up on the Tesla MySpace Page as a sneak preview so make sure to check them out: www.myspace.com/teslatheband

    Tickets are already on sale for the following festival dates that Tesla will be playing this summer;
    The Arrowfest w/Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy, Scorpions, Steve Vai & many others near Amsterdam in the Netherlands on June 30th;
    The Moondance Jam w/Def Leppard in Walker Minnesota(3 hours north Of Minneapolis) on July 11th;
    and the Fon Du Luc County Fair in Wisconsin on July 20th.

    Please note that VIP ticketing will not be available at these festival gigs. In addition, the free 12 song bonus disc with concert ticket purchase will not be available at any of the above festival shows (remember, it's only available with the purchase of a ticket to any regular Tesla headlining concert within the US).

    Tickets are also already onsale for the following concerts in the US where the free 12 song bonus disc will be available. Please note that the bonus disc will only be available to those holding paid tickets for that night's performance. Tickets from any other performance are not eligible.
    Wells Fargo Center For The Arts in Santa Rosa, CA. on June 7th;
    House Of Blues in Anaheim CA. on June 8th;
    House Of Blues in West Hollywood CA. on June 9th;
    House of Blues in San Diego CA. on June 11th;
    House of Blues in Las Vegas NV on June 14th;

    Tickets for a Phoenix concert at the Dodge Theatre on June 12th will go on sale this Friday May 4th.

    Already on sale overseas in the UK and EU are;
    Sheppards Bush Empire on Thursday June 28th in London, UK;
    Club Plato on Friday June 29th in Helmond, Netherlands(near Amsterdam)

    Watch for many other cities in the United States and Canada to be added over the next few weeks. Tesla will also be touring Europe in the fall as well as a possible trip to Japan, Australia, and New Zealand at the end of this year - making "Real To Reel 2007" the first worldwide tour for Tesla in over a decade.

    The members of Tesla look forward to an exciting "Real To Reel" 2007 and thank you for your many years of support. For those new fans out there, welcome to the world of Tesla!

    They really need to post more dates (specifically toward the East Coast, more like in Ohio/PA).

    I've only seen them once, wonder what they'll be like without Tommy Skeoch, but will totally get tickets for them.

    They are an incredible band that got lumped in with hair metal that was so much more than how they were defined that their tag bordered on criminal.

    Hope you caught the recent PA/OH shows. I saw the two Syracuse shows on Labor Day (Sep 2007) and the Buffalo show last weekend. (By the way, State Fair concerts are way better than anything in Canada - what a party!) Buffalo was very cool in spite of band sickness (flu) but they played a full set and played a great new tune "Pvt Ledbetter" from their forthcoming album. A bunch of cool musicians who truly appreciate their fans and love what they're doing. No substance abuse issues apparent (which is why no more Tommy Skeoch IMO) and no flaws in their performances. Do yourselves a favour and watch some current Youtubes (as opposed to the old ones), listen to their old material as well as "Real to Reel" and then suddenly realize, "How the hell did I miss this band back in the 80's"?

    They give it their all to this day and never got the accolades they deserved as an 80's band.

    VH used to be like that...

    Always great live-lots of fun.
    One of the most under-rated bands I can think of.

    Under-rated...yeah...these guys should of been and should still be much bigger.

    The fucked up rock radio here only plays Signs...which I hated then and I still hate.

    It made them more noticable to the average music fan but I think it may of defined them too...at least on radio here.

    I've been hooked on them since their first album.

    BoneYard XM41 plays them alot...great catalogue to choose from....

    I bought "Mechanical Resonance" when it first came out on the strength of "Modern Day Cowboy" and ended up loving the entire album. Now that I'm older, I still appreciate them musically...but the lyrics and the vocals just peeve me. Obviously I'm in the minority.

    That is usually the problem. If Dave wasn't sexy, I would never give VH a chance.

    Did Tesla take their name from one of our Croatian people?

    I thought The Great Radio Controversy was more commercial and had less of a hard edge. I prefer Mechanical Resonance and Bust A Nut personally. But really in my eyes you cannot go wrong, even with their newest one Forever More. The only one I don't give 4-5 stars would be Into the Now, which has more of a contemporary feel to it with less emphasis on guitar solos and the like, but still has some good songs on it, including the title track.

    I think it was just a matter of bad timing. I lump Tesla in with other bands like Bullet Boys, Skid Row, and Steelheart --- plenty of talent and commercial appeal --- but they would've had longer careers if they debuted in 1982 instead of the late 80's when "hair metal" was in it's twilight of decline. They only had a short window to showcase the goods before Nirvana and Pearl Jam nailed the coffin lid tight on hard rock.

    Here's my fav clip of Tesla ---
