Hailing from Sweden, Hellfueled is a band that is Ozzy Osbourne incarnate -- the vocals are like the Ozzman in his absolute prime, the guitar work smacks of Zakk Wylde, and the songwriting is a mixture of the Randy and ‘No More Tears’ eras. A bit more on the vocals: the similarity is uncanny; the voice inflection, power, melody, bite, everything. Add the fact that the songwriting is actually very impressive here, and any/all fans of not only Osbourne but also straight-forward metal in general will find a ton to appreciate. The songs are succinct and to the point, with most of them checking in around three to four minutes each. But all are highlights, which helps overlook the somewhat brevity of the overall offering.
The slicing "Let Me Out" opens with a flourish, giving way to the rolling attitude romp of "Midnight Lady." "Eternal" is absolute Ozzy -- there’s no two ways around it. Its prancing and strutting verses will bring an evil grin to your face, and "Break Free" follows a similar formula later on. "Rock n’ Roll" has an evil creep, "Second Deal" is tight and strong, and all of "Someone Lives Inside," "Mindbreaker," and "Sunrise" leave their mark.
