Another heavyweight fight, another Klitschko victory.

Wlad KO'ed Chambers with five seconds left in the fight. The lefthook was spectacular, but the rest of the fight was typically tedious. Chambers didn't fight, and Wlad was as hesitant as ever against a near dead opponent.

I think the U.S. needs some bigger heavyweights.

Size isn't the key - Arreola is 260lbs, Tony Thompson is a big guy, Lamon Brewster is a big guy.....

The key is a heavyweight WITH TESTICULAR FORTITUDE. Every American fighter that travels to fight either brother fights like a pussy, fights like they have no desire to win or any belief that it could actually happen. You only get one shot, SO FUCKING TAKE IT. Wlad is there for the taking - he is fighting guys who wouldn't have been ranked in the top 20 or even 30 a generation ago and he takes forever to get them out of there - a guy with that kind of power and those kind of size advantages should be decimating guys like Eddie Chambers, who could comfortably fight at cruiserweight. You think Chambers, Arreola, Tony Thompson, John Ruiz, and co. last 4 rounds with Mike Tyson?

The US needs to produce a heavyweight with balls, heart and some better than average skills - I tell ya, if Wlad didn't get his own way for three rounds he'd probably fall to pieces.

Vitali is a whole other problem - that's one tough motherfucker. But he's still so robotic. A heavyweight with fast hands and fast feet should be able to outpoint a guy like that.

Jeezus, Larry Holmes would have made the two of them look stupid.

And this isn't Klitschko hate. Far from it - I have ultimate respet for both brothers. Boring they maybe, but they beat everyone that's put in front of them and are respectucful and in shape. But it's time for a new era now.

Here are the 'highlights' in case anyone didn't see the fight. It's worth watching it for the KO in the 12th:

Round 2 of the Supermiddleweight 'Super Six' tournament begins this week:

Arthur Abraham - Andre Dirrell on Saturday.

I'm REALLY struggle to pick this one. Despite the fact that Froch got the nod, I actually thought that Dirrell won their fight - Froch spent most of the night punching air. I hope that Dirrell has taken on board the fact that he can make the powerful guys like Froch and Abraham hugely ineffective by being so mobile, but also that he needs to throw more punches to steel the rounds from them. Now, there is no way in hell Dirrell is stopping Abraham - a man who the massive puncher Edison Miranda couldn't budge, even when he broke his jaw. But I actually think that Dirrell might be able to get a UD - he is so much faster, and should be able to stay out of Abraham's way.

Abraham is the more experienced, but he's never faced anyone as elusive or fast as Dirrell. Given that he's a slow starter, we can pretty much assume that he'll be behind on points at the half way point. But with a guy like Abraham, you can never discount a KO - just ask Jermain Taylor. That being said, taking 12 rounds to KO a faded Taylor who was still lacking in confidence from his Pavlik and Froch debacles might not be as impressive as it seems. Taylor has never been hard to find, and it seems the likelihood of AA KO'ing Dirrell would be slim.

Expect a bit of a stinker, largely because Dirrell will be doing everything he can to avoid engaging (a smart tactic). AA will come forward incessantly, and Dirrell will pot shot him to the body and through the shell-like guard when opportunity presents itself. Unless AA is much better at cutting off the ring than I think he is, I expect a UD for Dirrell, which will open up the 'Super Six' nicely.

Just watched the youtube you posted Dan - that Cameron fight was a disgrace to boxing. It's always an anti-climax when things end like that......

                      Arthur Abraham - Andre Dirrell

Gotta go with Abraham on this one. I'm still not sure that Dirrell is an upper echelon fighter. I know he did well against Froch, and Froch has done well for himself, but i don't see Froch as a real measuring stick or an elite fighter in the sport. Abraham is fighting above his natural weight which should make this more competitive. Abraham is an elite fighter. Dirrell will run and Abraham will look to go to the body to slow him down. If he gets to that body and wears him down....watch out. I don't think Andre can hit Abraham as freely as he did Froch either. Abraham is much faster and more elusive. I'm mixed as to a late knockout win for Abraham or a UD for Sir Arthur, but i feel Arthur is definitely the right side.

Good call Binnie. The fight went off just like you predicted until Abraham lost his cool. What a crazy ending. I won't say anymore for those who still haven't seen it and don't know what happened.

Yeah that WAS a crazy ending - I think that the DQ was the correct and only call for hitting a man who was down, but that was some Oscar winning acting from Dirrell!

Dirrell is still a little too negative, but he's now made Abraham and Froch look almost ineffective - he's a hard night's work for anyone, and I think his power is underrated....

Joan Guzman won a split decision over Ali Funeka in their rematch.

That being said, he came in 9LBS (!!!!) over the limit - unbelievable.
