Bute pretty much has to win this fight (and every other) if he hopes for some more lucrative fights in the future.Plus he is Interbox's main asset and i really do not think they would book him in a fight he does not have a good chance of winning. Not meaning to sound like i am taking away from Froch at all but I think Bute's team know what they are doing with this fight
I really love you baby, I love what you've got

True, but Froch is WAY better than Bute's opposition thus far.

He's open to be hit, however, and I expect Bute's team are expecting speed to be crucial.

Not intending to bring up THIS tired old topic again but it just made me laugh

Floyd Mayweather Jr. says he will have nothing to fall back on once he hangs up his gloves whilst Manny Pacquiao will have everything,So the fight needs to happen.Manny has deals with Hennessy, San Miguel, McDonald’s and Nike Sportswear, as well as Hewlett-Packard, telco firm PLDT and State Street Produce. While Floyd's personal endorsement deals have been far and few between.

Now this got me thinking. From his last six fights (Carlos Baldomir, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley and Victor Ortiz) he has made something along the lines of $173 Million. He also has a net worth of $90 million.Nothing to fall back on?,Really?.

Floyd's 'money problems' must be fictitious - I know he gambles a lot, but could anyone be so poorly advised to piss that kind of cash away?

I related news: Salido-Lopez II was a cracker last night.

Were they ever. Salido and Juan Ma produced another thriller. I wonder if this is a case of Salido peaking late in his career or if it is just that Salido, for whatever reason, has Juan Ma's number. Boxing history shows a lot of dominant guys that all had foes of arguably lesser ability that they just could not beat. Salido is a man's man for going back to Puerto Rico to defend the belt for the rematch when he didn't have to.

I think it comes down to Juan Ma's self belief. It's a problem with big bangers - what happens when you come up against a guy who can take your shots? Then the self-doubt creeps in.......

Salido is a tough customer, and throws some awkward shots - especially uppercuts - that you don't really see too often.

Agreed. Kind of made me dislike Juan a bit. I hate it when fighters make excuses after a fight and don't give props to the guy for beating their ass. I hope Salido gets a lot of attention from the Mexican community. He's no Chavez or Barerra but the dude is double tough and has a heart of iron. I saw Jorge Arce there with him and his handlers; i wonder if they have the same trainers. Arce is like Salido in that he has turned his career around for the better as of late claiming a world title as well. He looks a lot tougher than he used to.

I see some big fights for Salido.

I think a boxer will always beat him, however.

I doubt Martinez will KO Macklin. It will be a UD.

Macklin is a damn good fighter, and he'll be up for this. But Martinez is too fast and too unorthodox.

Macklin will need to let his defence do the work for the first few rounds and spar a little if he wants any chance. He needs to go to the body and keep his punch out put high to give Martinez trouble. If he can take away the speed advantage by lateral movement and work the ring it may just give him the chance to pull off the upset

Martinez,Blistering hand speed and great reflexes and actually more Knock-out power than his record shows.I think he has the clear advantage going in to the fight and will get the win.Martinez on points

Has the potential to be a great fight

    I second that!

Marquez's speed and god-like jab win him him this. His only flaw is that he is a little wild and easy to hit - I also suspect that he has a bit of a problem getting 'up' for these fights.

    True dat.

Matthew Macklin and Darren Barker (who was a tricky fight for Martinez) are two world class British fighters. It's a shame they can't get fights with the German (bums) champs.

I finally saw some of this earlier today and it was a pretty good one. It's about styles. Lopez is MADE for Salido because he fights very upright and has a bad habit of backing stright up. Add that to Salido's unconventional, looping punches and it's bad for Lopez because he like to occupy the space that Salido naturally swings at. When Lopez fights a more conventional guy who comes straight at him he doesn't have the same problem.

I want to see him put pressure on Martinez and keep it there. Martinez has a lot of miles on him and one night he's gonna step on the loud pedal and find out he's out of gas. Will it be tonight? This 1/4 Irishman hopes so.

Yes the fight turned out great. They were pretty much neck and neck until round 8 where Martinez stepped it up and took control.Much respect to Macklin,he put on a very good show,Although a questionable knock down in round 7.It was definitely Martinez's inhuman conditioning that won it for him as Macklin started to fade as the fight went on.KO one round after Martinez predicted,Definitely worth watching

Erik Morales v.s Danny Garcia could be good.

Morales has the advantage of beating some of the best in the world on his side,he also has the power advantage.Garcia will need to use speed to wear him down and try and find the key to breaking that iron jaw.He will need to try and get in morales's head and try and control the pace of the fight. But as long as morales does not try to out manoeuver him i say he takes it

    Who ya got?

mmmm toughy ... i keep expecting morales to get old .. he has been in some superstar fights and been in with the best .. was it his last fight maidana were he just lost he seemed like he still had pleanty in the locker and looked good .... aint seen much garcia but know he is a bit of an up and coming star in the making ... will check on more garcia before i put my money down .. but if garcia won its a great scalp to have for a young fighter.

He's like Martinez, I keep expecting to see him crawl through the ropes one night and just not have it anymore. A LOT of tough miles on that chassis. I think he's got one more left in him, Morales by UD.

I don't really see this one going to the cards. I am going with Morales in a late KO much like in the Martinez/Macklin fight.

just heard Morales has been stripped of his belt for not making weight for the fight. He came it at 142lbs,2 punds over the fight weight. He was also docked $50,000 from his $1 million purse which was added to Garcia's.Morales has said he doesn't really care about being stripped because he has already won the belt, and if he forced him self to drop the two pounds it could hinder his performance in the fight.

Not sure if I like the attitude there.I can understand where he is coming from,He is a champion in 4 different divisions but if the weight limit is 140,he should be in at 140 come weigh in time,no?.That being said it is Garcia's first title shot so he will be bringing his A game, and the smart thing for Morales to do would be to take the title strip to ensure he wins the fight.Garcia is going to be hungry so why risk fatigue from training in a sweat suit and potentially jeopardising the fight

Yeah i was reading that , not sure what to make of it .. does that mean he aint up for it .. i always worry when boxers dont make weights, these things are ridgidly planned normally. it may even give garcia a bit more belief ... if you need one before going in to a world title fight lol

Morales has always had a piss-poor attitude. Too bad I'll miss this one for now, as I don't have HBO but I'll be watching "Super" Judah, starting in 40 minutes.

Garcia put on a very impressive display and won decisively.Morales kept a slow and measured pace for the first few rounds and was using his jab very effectively, but Garcia fought smart and changed the distance and proceeded to knock morales around the ring. There was a few moments where morales let a few flurry's fly but toward the end he looked winded and slow.

Not a bad fight.Show's what i know about picking fights.I had morales by decision
