Tyson Fury beat Derreck Chisora easily. TKO10.

Looks like he'll get a shot at Wlad next year. Fury looked good - he showed a look of discipline.

Chisora was just in over his head. If you're fighting someone that much taller than you then you have to be faster, and he isn't. He was a sitting target all night.

Curious to know what people think about Amir Khan-Devon Alexander on Saturday. Pretty sure the winner will get a shot at Floyd.

I hope Alexander wins - he has decent power and fast hands, which is a nightmare for Khan. My gut tells me that Amir will box well and in a controlled manner, however to a points victory.

Looks like Mayweather-Pacquiao is as close to happening as it's ever been, with Floyd calling Manny out.

Paqfraud will get beaten silly. The only reason I want this fight to happen anymore is to bring a reality check to all the delusional paqfans.

It's still and intriguing fight. I suspect Mayweather will come out on top, even though they're both past their best.

I used to think Floyd would win be a wide margin, but the Maidanna fights made me re-think. Like Pacquiao, Maidanns throws unconventional punches and Floyd's defence wasn't quite as solid against them for that reason. It would be an ugly fight, I think.

I think the key is Stiverne's counter-punching - he might be able to catch Wilder and exploit errors in his defence. Or, he might get sparked like everyone else Wilder touches

    Semi-final 1: Tyson-Lewis.

The real fight means shit here - in 2002 Tyson was shot to shit. It's true that even in his prime, however, he would have been up against it in Lewis, giving away massive amounts of weight, reach and height. Tyson comes out fast and Lewis looks startled: he can't hold Tyson off and he goes down from a right cross after two minutes. When he gets to his feet, Tyson is on him again and it looks like Lewis might not get out of the round - only holding and spoiling tactics allow him too. In round two, Tyson is on him again. Lewis has his moments, landing a peach on an overhand right which Tyson shakes off. The smaller man continues to bob and weave and unload with 4 and 5 shot combos, putting Lewis down again at the end of the round. Lewis tries to get his jab going in round 3 and 4, and he begins to look more comfortable, despite losing the rounds. In round 5, the tide finally looks to be changing, with Lewis frustrating Tyson's assualts behind his jab. As he pulls back from one assault and circles to his left, however, Tyson catches him flush with a peach of a right hook. And that is all she wrote.

    Result: Tyson KO 5.

    Semi-final 2: Holmes-Louis.

Holmes is used to out-boxing everyone he faces, but Louis has other ideas. Joe's fast hands and combinations frustrate Larry, who is shipping a lot of punishment and taking 4 to land 2. By the sixth Larry is way behind, and Louis just keeps coming, using his superior speed to punish Holmes for round after round. It could have been stopped any time after the 9th, but Holmes's valient efforts and whip-crack jab keep him in it. Rocked repeatedly thoughout the fight, he says in the post fight interview that Louis's power surprised him.

    Result: Louis UD 12.

Wilder looked good (especially consider he broke his hand). Poised, great jab and controlled the fight.

He has things to learn - double-jab and body punching being the obvious, as well as some defensive things - but he is exciting. A Tyson Fury fight would be great, as would Chris Arreola.

I think mayweather is to good at this point.
But I do see value in supporting paq due to the outrage it will cause amongst the mayweather fans on here.

The PAQ band wagon starts here

How Pacquiao can beat Mayweather, according to Juan Manuel Marquez
    http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story...manuel-marquez

Juan Manuel Marquez has been in four wars with Manny Pacquiao, so he knows better than anyone what the Filipino fight icon is capable of inside the ring.

The proud Mexican champion has also fought against Floyd Mayweather, giving Marquez a unique perspective about the upcoming mega-fight on May 2 in Las Vegas.

And unlike most observers, Marquez sees Mayweather struggling with Pacquiao.

"Floyd Mayweather isn’t really used to fighting with southpaws," Marquez said on the Mexican show Golpe Y Golpe.

Marquez detailed how Pacquiao can break through Mayweather's vaunted defense.

"We know how Floyd Mayweather uses his shoulder roll, so with an orthodox fighter he can dodge many of those shots and wait for openings in his opponents than counter. Manny Pacquiao on his part has to use his speed, and lateral movement and in turn do not give Mayweather any space or minimal space to make him uncomfortable on that very stance," said Marquez.

The Mexico City native also took note what punches Pacquiao could use to bother Mayweather.

"The right hook will be key as a lefty for Manny Pacquiao. can set it up by using a left jab to the body and following it up with a hook from the outside and repeating a double hook and he can finish it off with a straight left. The repetition will be key in landing those combinations and Pacquiao has to change it up for Floyd not to adapt," said Marquez, adding that Mayweather's boxing IQ makes the brash American formidable.

"He sets traps and throws nice uppercuts from long distance, and he will use that reach advantage to do so. He will follow that up with counter rights and straight lefts from range because of that advantage." —JST, GMA News

I used to think that Mayweather would outbox Pacman for 12 rounds. Watching how Floyd struggled with Maidanna - who, like Pacman, throws punches from unusal angles - I think that the fight will be closer. I expect Floyd to be cautious and win via UD. The early 5 rounds will be close.

Yep. Pretty sure GGG is too big and too strong for Cotto though.

Guerrero-Thurman on Saturday is a good fight. If Thurman wins he goes into the A-league.

Yeah, I think the Maidanna fights will make people re-think. Maidanna throes shots from strangle angles like Pac and has some success with it. Add in Pac's speed and workrate and people will think he gives Floyd problems.

The height and reach disadvantages that Pac faces are huge, however.

Thurman beat Guerro. Good fight. Guerro is on the slide now, and the lay off will have been a factor. But a very good win for Thurman nonethless.

Broner also won. 147 is hotting up.
