Oh, and I am probably going to use either Garageband or Logic Pro to record.
garage band works pretty well my friend uses it
R.I.P Van Halen 1978-1984

I will probably use that because it's fairly simplistic compared to a Pro app.
There is a free multitrack proggie called Reaper that is damn good.
You running a Mac? Not sure if Reaper has a Mac version.
Nope, Win32 only.
Oh well, I guess I can "settle" with Logic Pro.
i just bought an M-Audio Audiophile card so i can run the J-Station into the computer through the digital in.
Writing In All Proper Case Takes Extra Time, Is Confusing To Read, And Is Completely Pointless.
Kristal is a decent free program too.

Ever try cool edit pro ???
It's now Adobe Audition. I use it to determine whether or not MP3 files are transcodes.Originally posted by hillbillyhell

Agree with Kristal and Reaper as good freebies..
Kristal supports ASIO input devices such as M-Audio too..
(Havent tried that on reaper yet)
I actually prefer Kristal's interface over shit like Pro-tools,
however there's a few minor bugs in the free program..
(Live monitoring during playback/record
on left channel only is one annoyance that springs to mind)
Limits on number of vst plugins another obvious one...
The dude that wrote Kristal is meant to be releasing version 2
shortly, which will be a commercial version..
Im hoping he stays with the same interface and just addresses
the issues that the free version had.. I would pay for it for sure..
BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow !
Love ya Mary Frances!
Killer program. I use it for multitracking etc... makes great mp3's (for emailing bandmates mixing updates)Originally posted by MERRYKISSMASS2U

I might have to give this one a trial.. Looks great !
A certain happy pear just might be able to get a certain nice Aussie man the real deal for nothing. That is if the Aussie were interested, and a pear received a PM about it.
Ya know. I've used this program for 5 or 6 years and I'd put it up against Pro Tools any fuckin day. People ask me why I hav'nt got PT. My answer is whatthefuckfor? It does everything PT can do ,plus I've completely mastered this program...
I highly recommend it!
I would get Pro-Tools, but I would need to buy a special version of it called "M-Powered" to work with my Black Box. I would use Logic Pro, but I will have to wait until the application gets [k]'d or something.
Lotsa producers here in Nashville have gone for Steinberg Nuendo over ProTools.
