    Cool stuff.

"Ed" and "bassplayer" are on the wrong sides of the stage.

    Where are these from?

Who is that? I've seen the Punks a few times. Good way to spend a Thursday night and have a few beers.

The guitar player is not swinging the opening and main lick in the song. It's very difficult to do at that tempo. Also, the audio in the clip is absolutely terrible. And Dave is too short.

Q: How many guitar players does it take to change a light bulb?

A: 100. 1 to change the light bulb and the other 99 to stand round and watch while he changes the light bulb and all say they could have done it better.

Hummarstra, it's easy to make a lick swing sitting in your bedroom.

Souns is bad, I'll give ya that, Dave sounds just like Dave, that guitar player has completely nailed Ed's tone no doubt and above all Mike is a fat fuck with a Jack Daniels bass. What more do you want? Sheesh.

I completely understand -Tribute- bands. Covers are Kool, but why try to look exactly like the band your covering, especially when Ed is-Taller- than the -Dave Dude- .By the way, vocals by Dave Dude are excellent, even thru the bad audio.

I understand why, but if you ain't perfect at your execution of the look do something else.

Ok, I can't sing and I can't dance but wouldn't it be cooler, if they all were dressed like Elvis Costello.

Ps. hey drummer dude move those drums around you may never get another chance to see yourself on youtube thirty years from now again..lol

The Best part of this band is -Dave Dude- in the HFT vid, he is so blasted the guitarist rolls over to the -Mike Guy- who hardley even tries and complains about -Dave Dude-.

Now.... tibute band or not, baggin on blasted -Dave Dude- ain't kool since, he is the best of all of them in the VH style.DIKS!

The Punks would mop the stage with 'em.
"I'm the one" sounds stiff, it doesn't swing...
I play "I'm the one" just like that dude & i know i suck on that riff.

Amen to that. XHalen is very good, but the Punks are miles above them.

Having watched a number of these video postings, I'm overwhelmed by how pathetic the musicians are in the sense that they're caught in a time warp. If ya wannna play VH tunes fine, but unless it's Kiss, don't try and look like the members in VH. Watching someone impersonate all of Dave's and Ed's moves is a sad thing to see. Play the songs, but be an original character on stage.

Pretty Good...almost as good as the Punks.

No matter what...imitation is the best form of flattery.

CVH is classic, let's face it.

Play the songs, but be an original character on stage.
Totally disagree. If your gonna play Van Halen, then do it with 100% spirit. And that means looking the part to. Why would anyone squander money to see a tribute band get up there and play VH tunes in their flannel shirts? Fuck that!

Do it right or don't bother. I will say X Halen is good, but nobody will ever top the Punks. Ever.

I know these guys, and I was at the show from which the majority of the clips came. To say they stole the show would be an understatement. The energy in the room was amazing... and the backstage stories are nothing short of pure CVH. :-)

The US has the Punks, Australia has X-Halen. Both are awesome.

And as for the whole tribute band scene... the majority of those involved have their own originals projects. Tributes are just for fun, mostly. And, hey... what have VH been up to for the last few years? Not much, to say the least. All the CVH tribute bands out there at least let the fans hear some live CVH... and I'd say X-Halen do a damn fine job of it!

The audio DOES suck, but FWIW, the sound in the room was pretty bassy. You can still hear the performances once you tune it out a bit, though.

Good to see (most of) you guys digging this band.

    Long live the Atomic Punks!
The only VH tribute band that has ever impressed me, thus far.
Ya gotta be LA based to capture the Hollywood sleaze & swagger that classic VH just oozed...
Once again, the Punks done get it, cracka!

OK everybody. This is what I said. I said "he" wasn't playing the lick right. I didn't say anything about me or that I could play it better. If you listen to Ed he plays the lick with a swing rhythm. It's VERY difficult to play. Even the current Punks guitarist (name?) can't swing it like Ed.

But, other than that they're paying tribute to CVH. And that makes us all happy.
