Yup, the majority of us were completely disgusted. However, Dave got the last laugh when Hag had been spewing (for years) that he (Dave) would be at the ceremony with bells and whistles on a week before it started. Then after that pathetic thing, Anthony stated that the entire time he kept waiting for Dave to miraculously appear from behind a curtain. Those two dipshits had to have felt completely excluded being as how the REAL FUCKING BAND dissed the thing and pretty much told it to fuck off.
Again and yes, Dave both in and of himself could've somewhat saved that induction. However, he was smart not to go cos it was a sinking ship from the get go with EVH in rehab and Anthony and Hag attending, accepting and performing whilst hand in hand.
Regardless, those two received no ovation nor accolades by ANYONE for being there. It was a joke and the nonworthiness of Van Hagar was proven by their performance of "Why Can't This Be Dave?" where the atendees used that as a chance to take a bathroom break.
Again, Dave did the right thing by staying unified with VH and whatever future plans they might have. IMO
i pretty much lost all interest in the r&r hall after that fiasco and the fact that they inducted a rap group in there,and tried to have al sharpton justify why they were inducted.
i kind of like the VH1 rock honors,maybe we will see vanhalen on there next year.

I wouldn't be surprised if the shutdown wasn't done deliberately so the "powers that be" can determine WHO (#'s wise) is still interested in VH in their current state (with regards to still coming out to see a VH tour without Hot Sauce Man at the Bass). With all the havoc and crapola prior to and during the RNRHOF, seems to me that the VH Camp may be reassessing the #'s to determine the venue size determination ... Casinos v. Arenas v. Amphitheatres.
Since it's all a numbers game and all the proposed "players" want to make a profit, I think the survey of VH Fans still eager for news of a possible tour is highly on the minds of this band.
