"Children of the sea" freaking floored me, hearing it back as a young 9 year old VH obsessive.
"Lookout! The sky is turning black...black!"
Those lyrics remind me of the Columbine massacre, sort of a comment on the disenfranchised youth.
'Heaven & Hell' the album, has the coolest cover in all of rock 'n roll.
What a great image & 1980 was the best year for metal, in my mind.

Dio has the best metal voice ever!! I was completely blown away when I heard him for the first time. As much as respect has to be shown to Ozzy, I think Dio's voice really suits the music better. Lady Evil is my favorite song on the album.

I agree completely.
I think Tony Iommi was much happier with the sound, when Ronnie joined.
Unlike VH, when Sabbath broke with their original singer, you got two great albums out of the deal:
Blizzard of Oz & Heaven & Hell.
With the once mighty VH, you got cock-rock like EE&S, and the sterile, sackless wonders of 5150.
