$550 for a five star VIP in Charlotte. Fuck that!

What a fucking rip. Seriously who in thier right mind would drop $550 to see a concert? Even the mighty Van Halen. I can easily afford it but no fucking way would I spend that kind of jack on a concert. What a bummer. is this shaping up to be another cash grab? Guess I'll try my luck with ticket bastard or some scumbag scalper.

I said in another thread that if I spent that kind of cash on a concert, the band ought to request my autograph.

Well, if you've got that kind of disposable income, you have at it. I don't blame you if that's the case.

But most of us don't and I'll be damned if I'm going to hit a credit card for it.

Nah, even if I did have that much disposable income, that $1,100 would pay for me and hubby to relax for 5 days on a cruise.

It's just more than I'm willing to pay for VIP. I'll be in a regular seat and be just fine.

I bought the 5 star in greensboro in 04. It was $350.00 and looking back on it, it was not worth the money. The soundcheck was ok, the backstage tour was not bad. The food you got was pretty decent. But the shirt, hat and laminate were pretty cheesy. All it amounts to is a way to milk more money out of die hard fans.

I will be just fine with seats anywhere in the building.

No way am I spending that kind of cash to contribute to their grab.

I think they should call it "The rehab aint cheap tour."

I've already decided, I'm forkin' over the $550. I wanted the wife to attend and some friends as well, but at that price, I'll be going solo. Oh well, I've dropped more on less before, and this is a show that I simply must see. I've never seen Van Halen (and when I say Van Halen I mean DLR on vocals).

I've always thought... One day, Dave will be on stage with Eddie. I will be there, front row.

If they announce more tour dates, and Atlanta is on the list, I'll sit in cheaps, but for opening night... I'm there. Damn the torpedos.

believe me , I wasnt there for Sammy. What an embarassment he has become. He was so fat and dressed like a clown. The show was terrible as Ed was blitzed out of his mind. I just went to see what I thought was their last hurrah.

    $695 for 5 star at ACC------ W.T.F.!!!???

Elly said it best.. "if I spent that kind of cash on a concert, the band ought to request my autograph"!!!!!!!

That's a freakin vacation.. not an evening with a rock band.

That pisses me off... but dammit, I'm still buying tickets (in nose bleed seats).

Yep, they sold out in minutes. In Detroit, the 5 Star packages sold out in less than a minute!

Sure does make me nostalgic for the good old days: When I was 17 in 1980, we went to see them on the Invasion tour. Paid about ten bucks for General Admission and got the front row. I still got the pick Ed threw me.

The VH concert I missed (but bought the ticket and still have it) was in 1983 for the Cow Palace in San Francisco and the legendary Bill Graham was the promoter......going rate for General Admin $11.00 !

An update... I clicked on 5 star at exactly 5 o'clock. Got the order form. Entered my credit card number. Hit buy ticket. Yes I'm sure. Error message "we're sorry this show just sold out".

DamnIt. Got the 5 Star for the Oct 16 Chicago show instead. 695 instead of 550 and I'll be jettin there. It's all good though. It's not what you make, it's what you spend!!!

I agree. I think for most people in the Van Halen demographic (30-40ish) it's a little steep. Especially if you have young kids.

I happen to be in what I call the "D.I.N.K." (Duel Income No Kids) phase of life so $500 is not a lot of money to spend on a once in a lifetime Van Halen experience.

Bullethead, that's awesome! I hope you have a GREAT time.

I've known married women who've racked up thousands of credit card debt following Duran Duran around over the passed 3 years or so. Happily married women with children at home who were jetting out all over the country to the tune of a VIP ticket starting in the $300's. One lady says that she's now $20K in debt because of it. Needless to say they're not all happily married or have custody of their kids anymore.

Not this chicky. If I ain't got it in my hand, I'm not buying; and then if it leaves my hand penniless, I'm not buying.

I wanna see this show, but at a price I can live with. I've got college to pay for coming up in less than a year.

The VIP package thing has GOT to be one of the dumbest things ever invented. Why separate the attending crowd into upper and lower class?

    Let 'em mingle.

Besides, the ones who usually get those are some unmusical, wealthy scumbags (like record company people, Paris Hilton, etc) who go just 'cause they can.

    Cunts.
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

The powers that be want the Empire tickets/scalp money...they're trying to cut 'em out. In the end, it's still greed.
