Dave's hair made DLR Band cd so good.

I think it was Dave's hair that made the DLR Band album so good.
His reseeding hairline is the only reason the DLR band album Rocked.

    Your thoughts?

    LMAO !

Actually this is *THE* lamest shit that the sheep (or otherwise unintelligent) posters throw up everynow and again. Truth be told, Dave was already starting to bald before 1984 was even released. He had enough hair left to cover the fact, so to speak. Ive seen several pics from that era where the lighting has showed up the thinning on top. Kinda blows away the less hair less talent theory...

For those that obsess about Dave's hair (who are not female) I really worry about you guys !

You like my thread. I am glad you see the relevance Dave's hair had to do with his music. Absolutely nothing.

Dave's knowledge about his soon-to-be-moving hairline is what made the Classic Van Halen click

Ah, I promised to cut the old Mezro some slack. He reckons he is a Roth warrior. Cant deny the old chap a chance to kick the hagarites in their pea sized testicles.

You know, I think the fact he was finally comfortible with his hair contributed to the brilliance of the DLR Band CD.

Mezro...funny stuff 5..but I still really believe what I posted before.

He did have enough to hide it for awhile but it was around the EEAS tour/Skyscraper sessions that he couldn't hide it anymore. It didn't effect his talent but it distracted him. I don't see what is so stupid about that theory.

And (like I stated before) am not a fucking sheep.

Funny, Mark and I started off on the wrong foot (most likely my fault) but after reading some of his other posts, it is clear that he really is a die hard DLR fanatic. It is all good in my book.

I would take DLR's YFLM hair over the tweaker, meat slapper, brillo mess Sam called hair when he joined VH.

What was that style again: party in the front, business in the back and butterscotch in the hole.

Sammy is like a parasite. He joins VH and Eddie loses his talent.

Hi there General, I'm Mezro. Allow me to clarify a few things for you:

Van Halen - DLR, EVH, AVH and Fatty
Van Hagar - Sam, EVH. AVH and Fatty
EVH's Solo Band - Gary Cherone, EVH, AVH and an almost non existent Fatty.

Anything with Sam or Gary IS NOT VAN HALEN.

Since I'm the new kid on the block could you name a few bands that have cited Van Hagar as a major influence?

Mezro....right now...sam and ed are creating more bland crap!

hey Mezro, you'll have to excuse our little friend General Herpes. He seems to have all knowledge on Van Halen/Hagar down to the very fine vinyl groove off every album that band has made. Well at least he thinks he does. From time to time you will see him pop up like a forum virus, telling us what we should know, talk about, or listen to. But soon enough he finds his ass handed to him collectively by the real fans of this forum.

Thanks for the heads up BT.

I will have no problem debating GH and am looking forward to a few rounds of sparring. Just hope he can handle the DLR knockout punch.

you'll soon find out that he likes to debate, but when he finds he's on the losing end of a Roth scrap he heads for the hills. General Herpes turns to Captain Vagina Slugs and buries his head.

Yeah, I'm a defender of the faith..not a Rob Halford type of defender of the faith, but still a defender.

Another example of that classic Big Troubles wit.
You must have been high when you wrote this one too.

No I can't because no one sites Van Hagar as an influence.
BUT...no one sites Dave as an influence either not musically anyway.
Do they site Eddie's guitar playing?
Oh yes they do. But Van Hagar and Dave...NO!

    Welcome to the block.
I'm sure it won't be long until my intelligent posts baffle you causing you to seek revenge via 6th grade school yard name calling.

    Thanks for the welcome GH.

Nope, no personal shots across the bow; my game is spirited debate, plain and simple (well, maybe not that plain or simple).

EVH was a brilliant guitar player but I really feel he lost his fire after Dave left. You would be hard pressed to find many guitar players citing Van Hagar era EVH as any sort of influence (except maybe under the influence).

Musicians wouldn't cite Dave as an influence; he is a front man, unique creative force and an American pop culture icon. As an individual, he has very little to do with someone picking up an axe for the first time. But, I'm sure he inspired countless singers, entertainers and even comedians.

I think both Dave and Eddie carved out their own special niche in the hearts and minds of music fans all over the world. Too bad Ed can't see through the sauce that he and Dave could make magic again.

Mezro....who was influenced by the FUCK CD to chop my balls off, drink elk urine and cram tampons in my ears

mezro...your one funny mofo...good to have you on board...I wonder who influenced all these dave wannabes like vince neil, bret micheals, bon jovi...etc. etc...get over it gayneral hincent van gogh...dave was THE influence of EVERY goddamned hair band shouter back in the 80'ies and early 90'ies...some tried his jumps (poison), some his screams (neil) and some his looks (BJ-take a look at the "in and out of love"-vid)...dave is the essential frontman...
