Nope, not in this version...
Yeah, I could've just said "Jersey", I've been there myself, but just going from the VH website...
Of course, that was my first mistake...
Joisey folks, if anyone you know is looking to get rid of some tix, list them here...
Outside chance that I could be heading up there, still way up in the air as of right now...

Check your PM
you too, VA~
Back at ya Carmine....
I am still on the fence about going to this date on the tour. I have to work sat and we're having a giant Halloween party at the house too.
I will be at MSG though, that is definite!
Just a heads-up. My friend DOES in fact have four extra tickets for the Meadowlands show THIS SATURDAY 11/3. I'm trying to find the exact seat location from him, but we're both working ridiculous hours right now and hard to get in touch with.
But in case anyone is interested, shoot me a PM ahead of time and I'll get the seat location to you as soon as I hear from him. I think they are very good lower levels near the stage and he won't be asking more than face value. More info as I get it--see you all there for sure.
I'm in section 110, row 8....
VA, Figs, Mambo...etc
See ya soon....
OK, I just got home after a 14 hour work day. Talked to my friend and the 4 tickets he has available are in Section 122, Row 20 (Eddie's side). Like I said, he's only asking face value ($165 apiece) and he will sell in pairs. PM me if interested--thanks in advance!
Two sold, two remain. PM or email me at Casalad@aol.com if interested in the remaining pair. Again, section 122, row 20 (Eddie's side). Can meet tonight or tomorrow. Of course I'll be at the show too...Originally posted by MmboSlmrCasalad

I'm skipping tonight, gotta work today and there is going to be like 400 people at my house tonight.
Have a blast, and I will be at the NYC gig.
Word is Eddie flipped out tonight and threw an Amp/Monitor? Anyone confirm?
Yeah, Ed threw a monitor but it looked like he did it as a joke. I might be wrong, but ethier way the show was kick ass all the way to 11. I said to myself during "Jump" that dreams do infact come true.
Oh man, I'm getting all kinds of excited for MSG.

Get ready for the best concert experience ever, ally_kat. The Medowlands tonight shook like a motha fucker, fans went nuts, and the group itself was fantastic. I waited 8 years to see a DLR/VH show and the wait was certainly worth it! LONG LIVE VH!!!!!
Great,Any Pictures?

It was no joke. He was pissed as hell. After that he wanted no one near him. Ed lose the fuckin' cord and go wireless. He was flinging that thing all night. At one point he put part of the cord around his mic.Originally posted by DeadMan1984

I can confirm it. I was on the floor on his side in section 7. He was pissed as hell at his tech. Dave kept it all together as best as he could. Way to go Dave. They have to do something about the sound. A bunch of fuckin' rookies running that shit.Originally posted by DLD

DID SOMEONE SAY THEY WAITED 8 YEARS TO SEE VAN HALEN ? ......THATS FUNNY !!!
Saw the show and they were great. My friend got tix from ticketmaster section 230 like row 25, practically behind the stage. So i was still psyched to go. At around 4:30 I decide to go on to ticketmaster for the hell of it. Good thing I did. I ended up with section 110, row 4. Great seats-closer to the stage than a lot of those VIP seats. And for anyone who doubts Wolfie is playing-he is. Gonna try to go to the Garden too.
When the shit hits the fan, close your mouth and duck.
Oh, I fucking can't wait. The only downside is that it's a weekday and I have work tomorrow. Booo!Originally posted by DeadMan1984

(and no, I can't really take off cuz there's important shit going on at work the next day)
What's so funny about it? I became a VH fan 8 years ago and had to wait all that time to see them live.Originally posted by BALLYJUNKIE

Just got back a few hours ago from Jersey...
Had a great time along with my 14 year old son. Met up with Carmine, his son and his buddies at the Meadowlands Sheraton a few hours before the show and grabbed some high priced burgers....
The ongoing construction next to the Izod Center (I still want to call it the Brendan Byrne Arena) made most people park at the parking lots at Giants Stadium... The crowds going to the show weren't bad, but after the show it was a slow walk through the overpasses, not to mention making it out of the lots.... Of course, found out at the end of the overpasses that the whole crowd was slowed down by the 20 or so bootleg T-shirt hawkers....
Eye candy was quite impressive for the most part, New York never disappoints in that regard...
To be honest, the kids were more pumped up than Carmine and I were, we knew the setlist. But this show was their first (my son's third), and they were pretty damn excited...
As usual, we purposely stayed out in the concourse during the Marley set...
Carmine and his crew and us went our separate ways since he had sect. 110 seats (close to Wolfie), and due to my procrastination, we were in 232 (uppers next to Ed).... Our seats weren't entirely bad, although we had a side view of the video screen....
But as it turned out, we had primo seats for the highlight of the night, as you can imagine what that was....
Last night, for me, was all about my son... At 14, he's an honest to goodness Van Halen fan, not a son that was being dragged to the show by his old man, and dragged 360 miles at that... He knows the words on just about all of the Roth era songs...
And I tell ya, he did not disappoint.... He was hootin', hollerin' and singing just as much as I was, if not more, and a helluva lot more than the lameasses in my section.... In retrospect, I think a lot of people in that section didn't get tickets immediately, and therefore, maybe not the biggest Van Halen fans, but casual fans... And that was reflected in their casual attitude, a lot of older couples, a lot of sitting other than than big hits....
No use going into the setlist, exactly the same as the other shows...
OK, here's the deal with Ed's monitor. As I said, my seats were looking down right at him, and when I saw that he was starting to have problems (yet again on this tour, more on that later), I looked directly at him for the remainder of that song and into Dave's Ice Cream Man intro....I've read all of the other reviews, not only here but DDLR and the Links, and some of these guys are really exaggerating....
During Jamie's Cryin', Ed was having major problems with his monitor... Specifically what, who the fuck knows, but some people have said that he was making a "throat slashing" gesture during the song.... He was NOT making that gesture, he was continually pointing DOWN to the monitor.... During the last part of the song, Ed dragged the monitor off of the actual stage over to the platform near the edge.... When the song ended, but before the stage lights went down, he picked up the monitor and tossed it off of the stage down to the arena floor... Some people have said he threw it AT the tech, but no, it went to the floor, and was about five feet away from the techs (I'd like to know if the guy who actually gives Ed his guitars after songs is his main tech, or just another roadie, and if his main tech in at his soundboard)....
Dave then grabbed his acoustic guitar and started his story before Ice Cream Man, but you could clearly see offstage down on the arena floor that Ed was furious at the techs on his soundboard (I'm assuming that's what it is). He then went backstage to get ready for Ice Cream Man.... I've read people say that Ed had a "meltdown", that's bullshit.... He's arguably the greatist guitarist in rock history, and like any other professional, he's a perfectionist... He's pissed, he's frustrated, and he wants to have a great show in front of 20,000 people... And lets face it, he's had problems with that damn rig for damn near every show on this tour !!!
Also, once again, the sound is just too damn loud and too damn muddled.... I know people have said that it's always bad at that Arena, but damn, this crew is now creating the perception the band is doing a poor job because of their incompetence !!! The band is absolutely kicking ass, but if the sound is shitty, and if Edward fucking Van Halen has a shitty guitar tech, then you have people, like last night, that walked out of there saying it was disappointing, not because of the band, but because of the crew !! How long can the band take this lousy performance from these so-called professionals ??
Some of the other items I noticed;
- Some idiots in the section next to us three times threw their plastic beer bottles high in the air down to the lower bowl... What kind of assholes do that ???
- The upper level seats really give you an indication of just how many people are recording these shows... I'm not exaggerating when I say that there were times that there were hundreds of cellphones recording at one time... It almost looked like they were lighters there were so many...
- Wolfie is really loosening up. One of the unfortunate things at the Greensboro show was that Wolfie blew the "come on Dave, give me a break" line, and I mean he blew it bad.... Well, last night, after Dave did his "you'll get some leg tonight for sure", Wolfie slowly sauntered over to Dave's mike, and said, "Dave", with a couple second dramatic pause, "give me a break"....
- Dave did his best to keep the flow going in light of Ed's continued rig troubles. He recognized the problems Ed was having, and kept the crowd's attention as best he could....
- During "I'm the One", there was no hugging at all, just a bow from the band, and then continued on....
- Valerie was there, but I didn't see her, too far away.... Too bad, I've had a crush on her from her "One Day at a Time" days....
I'll say! $120 for 4 burgers, a chicken sandwich and a rueben!
lol....
It was great meeting ya, T. We had a nice time before the show with you and your son.
I was right on Wolf's side of the stage, 8 rows off the floor. I watched Eddies battle with his equipment and tech. He was gesturing as if something had unplugged. He had no sound? Now, I'm no tech whiz, but that problem was either on the stage (ed was trying to get him to come on stage and check it) or at what looked to be Ed's (mini-soundboard) off of his side of the stage. I could see right over there perfectly. It appeared that after motioning several times that something was wrong and getting no response was when Ed lost it. The "slitting of the throat" (sure looked like that to me, Beach) gestures came after Ed got a "hands up, whatta want from me" from somebody in that pit area off his side. When he dragged that monitor over, it fell straight down and knocked a few things down with it. There were no stairs, it fell 10 feet, straight to the floor. At the end of ATBL, he chucked his guitar HARD at somebody who, upon catching it, had to do the duck and cover or it would have impaled him! lol...he was fuckin pissed off and I guarantee that there is a former VH employee at the New Jersey unemployment line today.
When this show started....10 songs in....Dave and I were blown away. It was the BEST start of all the shows we'd seen. Roth was ON FIRE! Ed was ON FIRE! I agree with the previous posters and from what I've seen myself, Ed needs to stick with ONE guitar. Ed is the weak link. 27 different fuckin guitars is what is taking away from what would be a flawless show.
Now, more importantly, back to my son and his first ever concert.
TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY! He loved VH before, he's a lifer now. He was so happy, singing along, pumpin his fist....I caught him a few times just staring with his mouth wide open.
( and his line of the night: Dad, that guy in front of us...his cigarettes smelled real bad!)
