I knew they'd hit Montreal, but I couldn't take that chance. I'd have rather seen them there, but I have Toronto tickets.

Now I'm really REALLY gonna be pissed of, if there is a fuck'n game instead of a VH show that night!
I worked security for a VH show and Alex send a road crew member to get some spaghetti and meatballs from a popular local Italian resturaunt. He eats a big plate of pasta before a show to get his carbs up because the man works hard during a show. Sammy Hagar once said Alex smells like an Italian resturant before and sometimes during the show.
If you can't get tickets, show up with some pasta and look like you are from a resturant and say you are delivering Mr. Van Halen's take out order and act like you don't give a shit or even know who he is. You might get in. LOL!
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!
Montreal IS Canada's party place... absolutely no comparison with Toronto!Originally posted by Mr. Vengeance

Plus, Dave LOVES the French Babes (so he said)... I hope he's gonna be as excited as he was in 84!
Or... I could be delivering Mr. Roth "something else"??? :pOriginally posted by Nitro Express

Never made it up to Montreal when I lived in upstate New York. I enjoyed some Toronto debauchery and even got lucky there with a cute Canadian girl during my misled and wasted youth. Wild French partying sounds good to me!Originally posted by blonddgirl777

At least here, we don't stop the fun right when it starts... after 2:00 AM...
I was hoping to see Dave because I had a full access pass and I never saw him come in or leave. He did the show. Alex was running around and Mike and Ed were warming up in the locker room area. Ed was drawing attention like flys to shit.Originally posted by blonddgirl777

Alex actually ate with the road crew. He kind of reminded me of some of the guys that worked for my dad's construction company. Goof balls but they got seriouse when it was working time. Alex had that vibe to him. He was pretty much all business.
Hey, I lived in T.O. for 2 years... everyody was ultra nice with me. I just don't like the city, that's all.

Too bad, if you'd have had a nice set of boobs... you'd probably be bragging about meating, ho sorry I meant meeting him today! :p
I love French cusine. I even drive 200 miles to take my wife to my favorite French resturant. Max has ate there. It's as good as any place I've eaten at in San Fransisco.
I love French pastries too. Our nextdoor neighbor's wife is from Nice and she makes pastries but she can't get the right kind of sugar and flour here.
Much like Chinese food. Getting the ingrediants is the big battle. The same with French food.
So I imagine you guys have all that in Montreal.
We get a lot of French products and we also produce our own, with the tradition.Originally posted by Nitro Express

I've never tasted decent bakery (in America) outside this povince...
Van Halen actually spent a few days in the town I lived. The road crew were playing golf. I imagine the band would fly home for their R & R. It was 1984 and the road crew rode the bus and the band actually flew into the gig.Originally posted by blonddgirl777

Maybe Roth was getting it on with those two nasty women body guards he had at the US Festival.
I don't really care for it, being a vegetarian I always have a hard time in France.Originally posted by Nitro Express

I prefer Meditéranéen and California style cuisine.
Now I'm hungry!
The best bakerys are in New York. Out west they suck. I can't get good bagels here. If you are into eating bison and sheeps balls. That's what the local food here is. LOL!Originally posted by blonddgirl777

We have this very old Jewish bakery (specialized in Bagles) that is a well known establishment here. It's called Bagel St-Viateur". Same kinds of bagels as the N-Y ones, plus, they still twist them by hand daily!Originally posted by Nitro Express

MMMmmmmmm.....!!!!!!
:p
You would like Spago's. Wolfgang Puck studied the culinary arts in France and Italy. He combines both and puts a California flair on it. The thing with California is you can get good seafood, meat, vegitables, and fruits.
Some of the best food I have ever had was just in run of the mill places in Italy. Mom and pop owned places. That's one place I would like to go back to. I could spend months just in Italy alone.
O.K., now I not hungry anymore!Originally posted by Nitro Express

Yeah I know. Montreal is famouse for it's bagels. The New Yorkers always told me they were different but I'm sure it's a rival thing talking. That was my breakfast when I was at Syracuse University. A bagel loaded up with cream cheese and smoked salmon.Originally posted by blonddgirl777

It sound cheezy but I had the very best Cesar salade in Rome... really!
Now NOW I'm REEEAAALLY hungry!
We have a Four Seasons now so we are finding culture. LOL! There they charge you five times as much and garnish the bison and balls and call it Wyoming bison and Rocky Mountain Oysters. It won't be as good as the Nasty Norah Buffalo and Balls special.Originally posted by blonddgirl777

Little sandwich filled with this Kosher thin meat (I don't know what it is) but apparently, it's great confort food.
Have you heard of "Poutine"?
No joke, I gotta grab a bite and go back to bed...
Good night!
Poutine? I think so. That's that potato and meat gulash stuff you guys live off of right? The real lumberjack meal. LOL!
Hope you find something good in the fridge! I want a Philly steak sandwich right now.
French culture from France is completely different from French culture from Quebec. Just as New Orleans French is also different from the above two.Originally posted by Nitro Express
