Don't get me wrong, I saw that tour, but I'd still rather see Dave do that with Eddie, Alex and Mikey/Wolfie any day...

Not by a long shot. In fact, Vai butchers the solo. Sloppy as shit.

Bissonette plays way too stiff. He hits every tom the same, the bass drum the same every time. I'm a guitarist and I FUCKING HATE his playing. No dynamics, no feel. Alex has got the soul and feel, baby.

Oh, and same goes for Via - almost.

No fucking way!!!!! That was horrible. Steve Vai and Greg Bissonette are both very good players but they have no feel for the Music.

The Eat Em and Smile band was great fun but all those guys looked like hired hands doing what Dave told them to do. LOL! It didn't have the Van Halen vibe by a long shot. In fact, I was listening to Panama from the opening show of this VH tour and the magic was still there in gobs! Even with Mike gone. LOL! No, the Van Halens have something special that can't be copied if they are on top of their game. The VH guys had a natural cool stage pressence to them and the Eat Em and Smile dudes seemed kind of quirky in comparison.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

It's all timing and putting a vibe to it. The Van Halens, especially Alex are sticklers for being in time or getting back to it if you pop out of it. Eddie said Al will throw a drumstick at you if you start fucking up the time signature and he says he uses the biggest sticks they make and they hurt like a motherfucker. LOL!

    WTF are you thinking?

They're great musicians, but they sucked at CVH material for the most part...

On the other hand, "Yankee Rose" is still one of my favourite CVH songs, with absolutely brilliant riff "played" by DLR in absence of Eddie.

Steve Vai tone is not nearly as good as Eddie's.And the drummer sounds like a heartless machine -no tone in the drums either.Vai butchered the solo trying to look cool but came off sounding like an amateur student blowing his wad.The only proof this shows is that CLASSIC Van Halen are the only band that can play these songs correctly.
