Which Van Halen album did Eddie have the 'best' tone?

Just talking strictly TONE. Don't care who's singing - although it did influence edward's tone ;-)

Personally, I love the tone on Van Halen and Fair Warning the most.

    What about you guys....?

The first four albums were perfect. No further discussion needed.

Ou812 is without a doubt Ed's best tone!!!!!.........Ummmmm no. Actually I'd probably go with VH II or Diver Down (love the sounds of that record).

    Fair fuckin' Warning.

I'd give my left-hand ring finger for that tone.

Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

some good albums listed here. vh 1 just sounds so raw and unrefined yet controlled. like the intro to little dreamer or im the one.
