Cam Cameron might not last long with the Dolphins, either, but they might give him another year.
Andy Reid - Philadelphia Eagles
This season sucks. The product on the field is pathetic.
While I don't think Reid will be fired by Lurie, I think he will be gone by his own choice. His personal life is a mess because of two of his kids, and it's carrying over onto the field.
It was ALWAYS too much for Reid to be both G.M. and head coach. But now the situation is just untenable.
He may stay with the Eagles organization, but I don't think he'll be on the sidelines.

If we beat the Hags for our third straight, I'll take a few minutes to enjoy it, before I resume drinking myself into a stupor over this debacle....
Add Brian Billick to the list, and Tom Coughlin if the Giants either don't make the playoffs or go out in the first round if they do.
Mangina is gone after this season, no doubt about it. That performance against my Cowboys on Thanksgiving sealed his fate.Originally posted by chi-town324

Anyone think that Cam Cameron could be gone after only one season? I think it is a distinct possibilty, as he has the Dolphins going for the other perfect record, 0-16! This team is just horrible! How do you go from winning 6 games the previous season to being winless 12 weeks into the season the next?
as one of the biggest gibbs supporters out there, i have to say joe gibbs.
he has been questionable over the last couple of seasons; has a knack for going conservative and losing 1st half leads (since his return, i believe no coach has lost more 1st half leads than gibbs.)
but this season, gibbs has made 2 horrific mistakes. and i'm not just talking about deciding to run the draw on 3rd and 25. i'm talking about 100%, guaranteed mistakes.
1) earlier this season with the skins now behind at the end of the game (of course), and the clock winding down to the 2 minute warning, with the other team having the ball, gibbs waits until the 2 minute warning to call the timeout. troy aikman's saying this is crazy; you call the timeout before the 2 minute warning (at like 2:22, when we could have), that way 2nd down's over at 2:22 and then 3rd down ends after that next play, at the 2:00 warning. instead, gibbs lets the 2nd down clock wind down to the 2 minute warning and only calls the timeout after the 3rd down play, when there's like 1:48 seconds left. because of that error, when the skins got the ball back for the 2 minute drill to try and win the game, they have 12 seconds less than they could have.
2) yesterday; (after going conservative and on the way to losing the 2nd half lead...), 8 seconds to go in the game, raining, at home against the bills. bills down by 2 but are lined up for the 51 yarder to win it. gibbs calls timeout to freeze the kicker just as he's ready to go. although he makes it, he needs to re-kick. so as he's lining up for try #2, still in the rain, still on the road, still 51 yards, still pressure to win, the refs come out signaling another timeout. what?! turns out gibbs called ANOTHER timeout. 2nd in a row. of course, as anybody with a brain knows, this is not allowed and results in a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty. so the 51 yarder is now a 36 yarder. ridiculous.
i still have the utmost respect for the 1st gibbs run; but it's time for somebody new...
Yep, Gibbs needs to hang it up and go back to Nascar, cause the game has passed him by, much like it did Bill Parcells.Originally posted by knuckleboner

yeah that makes a lot of sense, it has happened to the best of coaches in the past. i.e. Tom Landry and Don Shula.Originally posted by Little Texan

Could Herm Edwards possibly get canned in KC? They lost, what, their last 9 games in a row or something? Can't really see them keeping him around. And in Cleveland, did Romeo Crennel do enough to keep his job, considering the Browns missed the playoffs?
To Gibbs's credit, he has rallied the Skins to four straight wins, and managed to get them into the playoffs, despite the tragic death of a teammate and the loss of their starting QB.Originally posted by Little Texan

true.
but he also changed his strategy. the skins played the games a little more aggressively. now, if that's coaching direction, good for him for (finally) recognizing. still, a bit late.
in any event, this season was shaping up to be a complete embarassment for him. now, making the playoffs, it will be viewed as a success.
but, the truth is, with better coaching earlier on, they wouldn't have needed 4 straight wins to make the 6th seed.
so, should he go? eh...retiring at season's end might not be a bad idea. (especially if cowher's available...)
still...GO SKINS!
Billick Fired
Brian Billick got canned in Baltimore. I started to list him, but I figured they would bring him back on the count of the kind of season they had in 2006.
Well, I guess I did list him after all! My memory is going to shit!Originally posted by Little Texan

Cam Cameron out in Miami. I can't tell you how shocked I am about this.
I laughed when I got to this part...
Cameron's only other head coaching job was at Indiana, where he was fired after five seasons. His career record as a head coach is 19-52.
You'd think they would have figured out before they hired him that if he sucked as a head coach in college, he was probably going to suck in the pros!
