Question What did you get for Christmas?

I'll kick this annual query off with what I got.

    A few extra .357 speedloaders.

A new gardening hat...cuntplete with the Minnie Pearl price tag.

    That Zolowzer VH picture book.

    A few gift cards.

    A Weber grill.

A tiny billet motorcycle mirror that looks like a dentist tool. (far and away, the coolest gift of the year)

    Socks...a few thongs....

    Can't cuntplain!!!

What's the deal with gift cards? Folks are buying wallets just to keep track of 'em! Fairly impersonal. Is cash less impersonal? Has everything boiled down to "fuck you, pay me?"

    Don't boil your gift cards.

    Money
    Chocolate
An iron to go with the ironing board I have...

Didn't really ask for much, 'cause I've bought so much stuff during the past four months. Including the Blade Runner 5-dvd set, Dostojevski's "The Brothers Karamazov", and a shitload of other books.
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

That disc is full of interviews from people who where around Van Halen in the beginning. Not a waste of time. kinda cool. The photo shoot pics at the beginning are awesome.

Socks ... socks .... a few shirts .... one says "Jesus died fo my space in heaven!"

Thanks for asking and hope everyone had a great Christmas!

You're right Dan. That was actually my best gift too. My 2 brothers and I have not been together for Christmas in quite a while so my little brother flew in from out west with his family. We are heading out to a lake house day after tomorrow to spend time together with all their kids. Going to be a great time.

I didn't get anything cause i didn't want anything. I had my kids (3 & 5 yrs old)Christmas Eve and Christmas morning so my gift was watching them open their presents. I recorded it and watched it about 5 times since. They're good little guys. I did but myself a couple of books and I did get Connect Four.

I knew this guy once who worked at this place and he had 5 florescent
5ft light tubes custom rigged on the back top of his 100 gallon tank.

He had colored gels covering each tube and they were set up in parallel
to come on in time with how the color of the rising morning sun strikes the ocean .

This was the only way he could keep his coral alive very sensitive stuff.
    Saltwater tanks are the stuff.
Granted these were times before this lighting was offered over the counter.

I used to go over to his house and pick his brain, (a very light thoery
and color wave lenght) brilliant dude.

    Good times.

    It's a kids holiday...and a holiday for retailers...

Christmas is so commercialized it fucking disgusts me, honestly. Christianity buried a pagan holiday with ritualism. While the original concept isn't entirely bad, it's degraded over the years into pointless excess and the older I get, the more stress it causes me.

Frankly, if it wasn't for the kids, I wouldn't even celebrate it...but seeing the kids light up when they get outlandish shit that they haven't done anything to actually EARN is pretty fucking cool, I gotta say...

I gave up after a big move but Ichtheology was a real passion/hobby of mine for twenty years.

My next step was the study of a self supporting system of live aquatics(plants) balanced with a sustainable amount of fish as to not require filtration or airation.Fresh water.

It's been so long I forget the terminology.lol

Nice. I had a simular tank but had to tear it down when we moved. Kids love those clown fish. I used to come home from work, crack open a beer and watch the little fishies for therapy after wanting to kill people at work. LOL!

Only if you let it be that way, Bob. The whole focus on retail has put more of a focus on the pagan traditions of the holidays that were combined for Christmas. But, for me, Christmas is all about spending time with the family and going to Midnight Mass.

Last couple of yrs, I haven't wanted anything really giftwise. Maybe that's why I've been able to shake off the whole retail thing.
