I read over at the links in the Vegas 12-30 07 tour review thread that the band is so unhappy with the sound company they are using that they fired them and got a new one for the rest of the tour, might be a good thing, Im just sayin

Good move if it's true. The sound at the two show I attended sounded very muddy. Here's to a better sounding 2008!
Three time witness to the comeback of the MIGHTY VAN HALEN. And then they faded back into obscurity.

Thank fuckin god if they did fire em!
Is the problem the sound company, or the arenas which they are playing? Some arenas just have shitty acoustics, not a lot you can do about it.....

I simple idea for that is to get seats right next to the PAs.Originally posted by binnie

I usually get standing tickets (arena floord over here are almost always standing only) and try to get as close to the sound desk as possible - that way I'm hearing pretty much what the sound guys are hearing...Originally posted by BITEYOASS

Have read more than a few reviews of shows where the common complaint was the sound.Originally posted by TVGUY

Shouldn't be too tough to get it right, as it's essentially a three piece band with vocals.
Scramby eggs and bacon.
What are sounschecks for???
When the shit hits the fan, close your mouth and duck.
The concert was great, but the sound was complete shit.
Oh yeah, I'm there. Got great lower level seats on the right side of the stage. I don't go for the floor any more. Just to the right of the stage is where it's at for me.Originally posted by David Lee Rocks

They should use the people Roger Waters uses, his sound was outstanding.
After ed's rant on stage, they need a change.

I was side stage in Calgary and thought it sounded great...a buddy was front and center in the back lower level and said it was horrible...it is all about where you sit perhaps.
A new sound crew is good news. I attended two shows, which were awesome, but the sound crew left alot to be desired. For the money fans are paying for these shows, the sound quality should be pristine.
With everything being top secret, we may never know.

They need some 7.1 THX industrial strength Surround Sound for this tour! With small PAs scattered throughout the arena and larger ones on the ceiling.
Are theyt actually touring with a PA, or using house ones?Originally posted by BITEYOASS

The fact is, most bands have the sound too loud to hear properly. VH had a shitty sound setup AND it was too loud. Double whammy. But you have to fix both for it to sound good.
