    Motorcycle

I have waited years for someone to start a thread about bikes, so i'll do it.

I have owed 6 street bikes in my life more to come on this....

Ok, so for a few years I have wanted this scoot .

    Yamaha XJR 1300

I don't like the monoshock I think I would put on Dual shocks.

I believe it is only available in Europe.(going to grab a brew) I'm back...Tasty!

I really haven't had a -Cafe' Style- bike, I preffer the traditional -STYLE-.

I wish you would post in here what you like.

    Picts Welcome.

( I am all dependent on the whims of the Mods)

I have seen stories here about wrecks and the such .

Never seen one about crome/paint/model/paint etc... repairs, what's the best physical motorcycle.??

    Shop Talk, Talk Shop.

I cannot tell you how much fun can be had on a 73 Honda 250 Elsinore.

I installed a Radial Head and Expansion Chamber.

Bought it for 275 cash walking by a garage sale in about..??? 82 hardley out of the box, dude never road it.

I drove that bitch to the fukkin stars of heaven.

Sold it for 300 bucks one year later and the dude took it across the street and blew second gear out right in front of me I gave him 50 bucks back, we pulled some doob and all was cool.

He rode twisted mot-cross on the side, turned this bike into a real competition blaster.

One of my worst memories about old MX bikes is about an RM370.

I think that one is a '76. The one in my story was a '78, and didn't belong to me...plus, it was bored to a 450, and was pretty beat up. So I wanted to cuntpete in this "junior" hare scramble @ our local track, but didn't have the necessary cubic centimeters to make it happen. It was 175cc and above. All the other kids were using their dad's, brother's, or whoever's piece of shit PT, or Elsinore. My older brother suggested that I borrow his friends' RM 370. The dude agreed, and said not to worry about crashing it, 'cause he had three other ones. Those old 370s' still maintain legendary powerband status. After noticing my feet wouldn't reach the ground, my brother asked if it would be ok if they balanced me @ the start/finish line. All I really had the chance to do was run it around the parking lot before the time trial. It was noticably faster than my YZ80, and the clutch was really soft.

Anyway, about 1/2 a mile in, I dumped the clutch coming out of this tight trail, and wound up careening through a stand of small pines. You know, the whole "spin cycle" sensation. Eventually, I got my act together, and pushed the bike over to a grown pine tree so I could lean against it to kick the fucker off. Right after I got it running, I noticed alot of blood on the tank...that's when I noticed the huge gash in my arm. Needless to say, I just took the shortest way back to the start/finish line. I remember one of the checkpoint dudes yelling at me. When I got back to ground zero, this old bastard that nobody liked came running over and said I was disqualified. I was crying and shit. The dude that loaned me the bike came over and said something like, "look!! he painted the tank!!!"

    25 stitches.

    Good times.

Just like my monoshock joke the world is a vampire and the booze addled brain will attempt to comply.

    no more trick ?' ions
    no points for details added.

    I have ridden several choppers never owned one stripped several street bikes down to the frame painted them and I understand some complex duties such as swing arm bushing.more later;;;;;

Lets call the red bike exibit A I find that the chopper is a bike with a certain degree of Rake and Stretch more later....

    Lets call the blue bike exibit B {{aspirin must kick in or i'm gonna drink more fukkit! beer thirty....annnnnd i'm back..... whoh!}}

Bike "B" seems to me to be somewhat descriptive of what I am going to say it is more of what I call a stretch bike than a chopper.

The california lowrider style chopper and this is a style of motorcycle I do NOT like.

Not a low rider not a chopper like a ball busting crotch rocket and whatever I say some preffer it I don't.

Bike "A" is what I would want if I was so inclined.

It's all good don't get me wrong if I wanted the seat on the ground I would by it for my BITCH!

I don't want my balls crushed up in my belly for a 1000 miles or even 2.

    If I did I would by a Ninja.Digg-It!

    Any comments welcome.

If you have never ridden buy a little honda 450, some bike to learn on I cannot tell you how many big Harleys I have picked up for people when they fall over at a streetlight.

I hate to say girls and I mean if you don't have big strong legs a big bike can be a drag.

I ride a 93 electraglide but I'm not one of those guys who thinks they
are better than someone else because they don't ride a Harley.
It just fits my riding style better .
My best friend had a GSXR 1000 and when we would take rides his
preference was hauling ass as fast as he could and I would enjoy the scenery.
The only time we rode together was at night or on the freeway.
After he crashed a couple times I tryed to talk him into slowing down
    and enjoying the ride.
    He didn't listen .
He had a big funeral early this year .

I got one for slow and one for fast ,but they are both fast.

A mile long wheelie is off the books for this old man.

Maybe on a track with some real good crash gear .

I am still crazy.... just that the repair bills sukk these days on me and the bikes.

I looked up a set of air cleaners for my jap bike 800$.... just the filters and housing.New jets would be next .....WTF.

Last time I stripped my jap bike down to nothing ... over a year ago

I had everything off the frame except the engine but I lossened an tightened those bolts too.Checked Valve clearances etc.. no need to crack the cylinders.

Painted all the frame knicks took the pipes apart steel wooled the crome painted the swing arm and oiled and pretty much gave this thing a complete overhaul better........ I would say than any shop would do as a matter of fact most dealerships won't work on a bike even one with thier name if it is older than ten years old.

But they will usually reffer you to a local cat who will do work factory sanctified and better FYI.To the buyers of older bikes I've had this baby for 15 years can't part with it.

So I pull the petcok off and cleaned and replace the(2) inner fuel filters inside the tank put it all back together.

I had the carbs down to 24 parts per carb I did the whole shaBANG!

I go to start it runs like a monster sex machine street blaster 10 minuets then NOTHING wont start for sh!T!!!!

Days go by friend comes over blaa blaaa blaaa.

Pulling the carbs on this bike is the hardest part because of the air cleaner a real BITCH!

So I pull it and the main jets are full of SH!T laquered up dried gasoline seems i didnt replace the old fuel lines after a month of work.

Flexing them and moving them cracked up all the old dried material inside the lines.

1.50$ Item fukked myself again ......just a FYI..... Dammit...... for the

    world.

    Motor on Muthas!

If my friend would have adapted your philosphy he would probably still be around .
He had a race bike that he would take to the track but he had to push his luck on the street.
His wife was following him when he met his demise but I didn't want
    to ask her the specifics.
The guy was living on borrowed time , anyway .
About twenty years ago he woke up feeling like he had his ass whooped the night before , opened his garage and found his old
    beamer totaled.
Never did remember what happened but from the looks of the bike
he was lucky to be alive.

I'd like to get me a new scooter especially with H D putting a bigger
engine and six speed tranny in the new bikes.
I'm always trying to upshift when I'm already in 5th gear.
That fatter back tire looks cool , too.
But I prefer the new street bob with the fatter front tire.
My first full size H D had that tall skinny front tire and would tend
to try to follow ruts in the road that the fatter front tire would go
    right across.
And if you find yourself off road on a dirt road or long dirt diveway
it sure is a lot easier to stay in a straight line with the fatter front
    tire.
What's the attitude in your area about loud bikes?
I live in the desert and they generally don't say anything even to the guys with straight pipes .
But in some bigger cities they are starting to crack down on loud bikes.
Next thing will be the illegal helmut crackdown.

Good advice for the newbies right there.

I've been riding for 20 years; I started out with an old 1983 Suzuki GSX 550 back in 1988 and in hindsight even that may have been too big and powerful for my first bike. I busted the ferrings from dropping it the very first year that I had it. lol That was the bike that I learned to ride with; and with time I gradually got myself more powerful bikes. I currently ride a Kawasaki Ninja ZX12 but without gradually building up to that without the experience; there is no doubt that I would have been roadkill by now.

If you're going out and getting yourself something like a Hayabusa as your first bike; you're really playing with fire. Don't go for power until you've got at least a couple of years of experience under your belt.

I always get a chuckle out of seeing some of these 20 year old kids who go out and get something like a Hayabusa right off the bat. It's actually sad because they're playing with more power than they can handle.

    HONDA!!! New Chopper...?

Well it's semi old news already, but let's talk about it ..hmmm...

At 663lbs (wet) the Fury is a seriously heavy motorcycle; with a wheelbase of 71.24 inches it also has an incredibly long wheelbase, the longest of any current production bike in fact. The 1312cc V-twin is liquid-cooled and fuel-injected, making it fairly high-tech for a chopper. But with just a 3.4-gallon fuel tank, don't expect to enjoy its smooth engine for too long before stopping to refill. Maintenance should be a breeze though not only will the engine be reliable, but the shaft drive requires no regular adjustment.

The Fury isn't our kind of bike and we're a bit worried that coming so long after the peak of the chopper craze that it won't be the kind of bike that proves terribly popular with the public either. Having said that if you must ride a barely functional excuse for a motorcycle, this is probably your best bet.

    A few web comments:

1.Is this the last of the Fury posts? This thing has been uninteresting since day one and I don't think we need to read anymore about its blandness/impracticality.

    2.^^^ What he said. ^^^

3.This from a company that gave us the original CB750F (the bike that changed motorcycling) the CBX, NR500, CB400F, CX500TC flights of fancy, the NCR/VFR series, the GoldWing. Ever since Mr Honda passed away this company has lost their "Joie de vivre" ? I blame accountants and focus groups and a politician of your choice ....

as my lonely eyes turn to Europe for innovation

I think it is outstanding looking for a production chopper.

I've had bikes since I was knee high to a grasshopper..
First was a Honda 50cc Last was a Suzuki GSXR750 bored
out to a 900.. Had a major stack back around 2003 and
really havent ridden since then.. I broke my left arm
in 8 places and I find the road vibration with all
the plates and screws gets fooken annoying
(and painful) after only 15 mins of riding now...
It pisses me off... Maybe God is trying to
    tell me something !

I do jump back in the saddle every 6 months just to
see if its any better, sadly it doesnt seem to be
    getting better

    Good times.

I bought some new foot pegs for my latest creamason I will perhaps find some super expandable confronation .

ElectroCat I'm Down, You Down...?? Stay up Bitchezz!!

Eva HÃ¥kansson - with passion for electric drive

We have all heard so many times before: electric vehicles are slow, ugly, boring “nerd-mobiles”. We will prove the opposite – and you can be a part of the effort!

The KillaCycle team with the insanely powerful KillaCycle dragbike, is the world’s fastest electric motorcycle in the quarter mile (7.824 s @ 168 mph), and is competing head-to-head with top level gasoline motorcycles. The winning KillaCycle team is now going for a land speed record, and, hopefully, become the world’s fastest motorcycle of any kind.

Top speed: The bike is geared for 100 km/h (60 mph) at the moment. Because it has a PMDC (permanent magnet direct current) motor, max RPM is decided by the voltage (this is characteristic for PMDC motors). With a PMDC motor, you therefore have to choose acceleration or top speed. There is enough power for higher top speed, but because it bike is slightly under-motorized, gearing for a higher top speed would cost too much acceleration and also give lower efficiency. 100 km/h is an acceptable compromise at the moment.

Range: About 80 km (50 miles) per charge at 70 km/h (44 mph).

Mine was green. Never got it running, it was a gift from the Benevolent CurbGOD for my 9.75th birthday with no motor, one smashed front rim, and two drive rims.

I put a drive rim in the front fork, and watched and prayed for the CurbGOD to befit me with a lawnmower motor.

He did better, he gimme a MacKeely edger with a 2.5 Briggs n Stratton on it.

I put it on, and tugged the cord. Nothing.

    FUCK
    YOU

Stupid CurbGOD, lord of trash and Provisioneer of free false hope galore.. I put the neighbor's kid Anthony on it and pushed him freestyle like a scooter into a brick wall knocking his front tooth out.
