Question to those that boycott Microsoft

Why do so many PC users want to boycott Gates?

Is Linux a language that Microsoft can write programs to? Or is it licensed to certain companies?

I'm sure they could if they wanted to. But why support their rivals?

Although, the smartest thing MS could do would be to port their .NET framework to work on *nix systems. That would most likely sink Java over the long run.

Lindows runs MS products, but I'm not sure how well.
I've got the cure you're thinkin' of.

Anyone here tried Lindows ? I want to know if you can run a DOS app via Lindows... (As you can in Win98SE)

I have no idea, dude. I've seen Lindows run once, and that was in a beta mode. It wasn't very stable, if I recall.

    But it might.

    Hmmmm..

Im just looking for a cheaper OS that will run one of our apps..
But Ive found a company that sells end of lease PC's that include a legal copy ofWin98SE, for half the price of a new OEM Windows license!

(And that includes a PC !)

Life is too short to start using Linux.

If you want to spend half your time fucking around with your OS then fine be a geek but personally I prefer just to steal Microsoft stuff...

    Cheers!
