Guys,
I noticed this tribute to VH on their 30 year anniversary. And yes it does include all band members.

"One Foot Out the Door" is dedicated to the other 2 singers.

FAIR WARNING a commercial flop?...... what is that guy an idiot ...... fair warning is a classic !!!
How did it do during its release in 1981?
Also the Sammy Hagar comment regarding his shirt at the RRHOF is funny.

Moving to Main....
Fair Warning didn't initially sell as well as VH1 for example.
Being a "Darker" experiment by the band, it tended to appeal
more to the band's hardcore fans. Over the years its now generally
accepted as being one of the greatest ever Van Halen recordings.
BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow !
Love ya Mary Frances!
Didn't Fair Warning eventually sell 4 million + ?
The perception of it at the time of release, commercially, was perhaps a bit lower than the albums that came before because initially it wasn't selling as briskly.
Personally, I probably give WACF and FW the most play out of all the 6-pack releases, and I think those two were some of the lower sellers among the first 6 albums.
Scramby eggs and bacon.
FAIR WARNING was CLASSIC VANHALEN's slowest seller...
still...a STELLAR recording....
some of the photos are fucking BRILLIANT
Exactly. Probably the poorest seller from CVH, but argualby the best album.Originally posted by Matt White

One for the true fans.
The Power Of The Riff Compels Me
Maybe FW selling less than it should have is due to the cover, which is a bit "puzzling" - but pretty bold, BTW.
(Would Maiden have sold so many records, hadn't their covers been what they are?)
1978-2008... Who would have bet they'd link these two years a couple of years ago?
I'll never get tired of saying how kickass it is that they're eventually doing it!

It isn't 30 years since I've known CVH yet, as I first saw the YRGM video in 1979.
They really got me ears forever when I saw them on TV for the first time. It's still the biggest musical shock I've ever had!

Would be nice to actually see it over here though wouldn't it?Originally posted by Jérôme Frenchise

Hell yeah!!! Then it would be more of a come back than "just" US tours - and there would be more chances that they release a new album IMO.Originally posted by binnie

Back to topic, I can't really find any "good" reason why FW sold less than the first three albums, but I know quite a bunch of musicians who'd like to "flop" with over four million sales!
Bootlegging had a lot to do with it... I had a copy of it on cassette at
least a month before it hit the stores .......
