VH1 Said VH Working on New Material?

I have no idea about the validity of this, what they're going on, or even exactly what program it was. But I was watch VH1 Classic last weekend and they were playing some sort of top 800,000 80s videos or some shit like that. The kind where they have a bunch of mostly D-level celebrity, unfunny dickweeds try to be funny and make clever comments. But after playing "Hot For Teacher," the announcer said that they were reportedly working on new music....

Anyone else see this or hear anything related? I have reason to doubt the validity in any case...

    This is true!

In 2000, Ed began the impassible feat of compiling his musical ditherings achieved between pipe hits and blackout periods between the years 96 thru what's now the year 2009.. when he started he said he had "10 albums, in the can ready to go" so by now he should have 20 or even 30.

Which, if you do the math by Sammy Hagar standards, is the equivalent of exactly 73 Van Hagar albums.

"Honey, my shirt got itself torn up. My shirt tore itself on that stripper's hand, and I need it to be sewed up for the show."
"No problem, Dave, no problem. Say hello to Fluffy."
      "Fuck you, Fluffy."
"No, no, you're going to upset Fluffy."
"I ain't saying hello to no stuffed bear."
"You know, now that I think about it, it's going to take a little longer to sew up that shirt than I was thinking."
      "Hi Fluffy, how you been?"
"Now that I'm thinking of it even more, it's going to take half the time, Double D, Diamond Dave! Would you hold Fluffy?"
      "N--- yeah."

Well, I did a google news search for Van Halen and the #1 result was:

        ‘Supergroup’ Chickenfoot preps debut album

        So, who knows...

        No news is...well...nevermind...

If and when anything new gets released, I'll check it out.

Not gonna shock me if nothing does, though, and I ain't holding my breath.

I imagine that the announcer was confusing it with Chickenshit.

Coincidently, that band will soon featutre in VH1's 'Top 200 Worst Band Names' show.............

Not I, but as long as Dave's name remains on the official website I'll continue to hold out hope.

That, or an old show cut right after Ed said he has 10 albums in the can.

How was the hair of the host of the show,
and more importantly, do you think the host will get a blonde wig in the next 5 years.

Well, any time a band like VH finishes a tour, automatically its always assumed that they are 'working on new material'.

Well, as we know Ed and Al's work ethic, that means nothing.

I guess the only positive thing about this is that we haven't heard a peep out of Dave.

And in the past, quiet Dave = working with VH. Vocal Dave = not with VH.
