Godwin Organ...
Apparently it generates sounds similar to a Hammond...
Haahaa!!!
I'll leave it at that for now...
I must say this thread is most righteous. Anyways, the first time I saw one of these I was amazed at how cool it looked. It was Mick Mars and his white one circa 1982 maybe? Not sure exactly when, but back when they still wore lots of spikes, leather & warpaint. Unfortunately these are almost a dime a dozen now, and they don't shock anyone anymore (unless I did the wiring & soldering). Everything has become much, much thornier.
I think Mick's headstock was different.
“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”
Cool...
A red X guitar...
Trixon drums were made in the 1950's and 60's in Germany and were known maily for their egg and conical shaped bass drums and (sometimes) toms. Used primarily by drummers in the United Kingdom and Germany, they were shipped to the US in limited quanities and were used by several well-known bands, including Bill Haley and The Comets Link

This is just wrong (not to mention disturbingly creepy), on several levels. The Teenar, Girl Guitar.

Yikes and you play her from behind.
Somewhat less freaky (yet certainly strange) are the listings at this site:

omg
creepy doesn't do it justice....
For the sake of argument, we're going to assume she's 19.
Okay?
:shudder:
Gentlemen, how did we get here? What creeps me out the most is the guy playing it/her.
Back on track: The Beer Bottle Organ
A musical instrument made by Peterson Tuners, yes, the organ sound is actually produced by blowing air over the tops of real beer bottles.
The bottles are filled or "tuned" using mineral oil, so it will not evaporate or change tunings during weather changes.
The Bottle Organ concept was first developed in the early 1800's.
The organ as shown is self contained with brass fittings, lighting and is housed in a walnut enclosure on casters.
It includes an air pump controller and self playing device which allows the organ to also play musical tunes unaided, or via keyboard or MIDI controlled device.
This and many other oddball instruments are featured at the site I listed in an earlier post: http://www.oddmusic.com/gallery/
Here ya go...

Believe it or not, SNOPES has an interesting article about the first one, supposedly made from John Deere parts at the University of Iowa. Here is the truth...

Yeah, there's no fucking way either of those videos are real......even a drummer can see that.
I swear to God Lounge, say nothing.
But, but, bu........
fine.
Thanks Craig, I think I might even buy the DVD. Some of those look really interesting and of course it would be a great enhancement when you
I'll control it this time.
I'll post one more of these and then back to real instruments.......
I owned that actually, it was stolen from me in 84. I got it from a guy who worked at the factory, the headstock busted.
It was a 3+3 headstock.
The one I do have now is an 82 reverse-head inline6 headstock, neckthru Honduras mahog w/kahler, no serial number one of the first ones made.
