I'd be lucky to do a decent paint job of the Diver Down cover.

The color in the neck pocket tells me the guy really airbrushed it, as opposed to laminating a lazerprint of the famous London hospital montage - or wherever the Fair Warning scene came from.
This guys' really good with the colors.

If you look closely at the "in progress" pictures, you can see the outlines of where he had yet to apply the colors...
Yeah, he's really good. I'm getting one, fuck it.
That's an awsome guitar!

Im totally gonna revisit all the 80's bands that I

Here's another cool thing Jeff just pulled off...
"Hmm...I wanna use this wizard neck for my Kamikaze replica...but it's got that god-awful Ibenhad headstock, and needs the ESP reverse banana...what to do...?"
Next time I see a suitable Musikraft Charvel Strat body going cheap on Ebay, I am SO having him do a Fair Warning for me...we were emailing about it today, actually...already have a Floyd for it...lol
Come to think of it, should my local buddy be too busy, judging from these pics I could send him the Warmoth paddlehead neck for the Explorer headstock I need for my Kramer build...
That Fair Warning guitar is hot. Excellent job.

A few more pics of the Desert Kamikaze...
I dig projects like this, where you make a silk purse from a sows' ear so-to-speak.. but the tuners look really incorrect installed with the holder tab upside down in back.
I'll give you that nit-pick - he probably re-used the same tuners off the neck...
For sure! If I was gonna upside-down reuse these old Gotohs- which are my fave tuner key- I would have shifted the keys south another 1/4" - 3/8" for better left-hand access.
But I like it - it looks alright. I'm fine with headstock mods, and have a few myself.
Keep in mind, the original 57-59 Gibson Explorer's headstocks were modded and none of those gluejoints have been documented to fail so I think this mod job will last a lifetime.
He even took the time to groove the underside of the headstock to form sort of a rabbeted edge to piece a glueable edge. I think this guy's woodwork is as good as his paint because he considered how to create a strong bond beforehand.. some guys would have done differently.
If I were to do it, I would have used a 4" oscillating spindle sander to make a radius there instead, then cut a 4" semicircled edge and just epoxied that in. But this was just as good I think, a little labored but its fine.
Good to see nobody is bitching about how many times he wrapped the strings around the tuners.
Yeah, now that you mention it, there's only two wraps on the low 'E'...
