This is big news: Eventide is master at the harmonizing, doubling and pitch-shifting time delays so much, that it was part of their original name ("eventide clockworks").

The amazing H3000 series held an original MSRP of $3500, and I've seen these rack units sell with high demand down as low as only $1100 which still isn't cheap.

Hopefully this pedal changes things: if they've figured out the power supply issues I WANT ONE~!!

From memory I think that's the one Vai used on Skyscraper on stuff like The Bottom Line.

It's a cool demo but I think it's basically just another gimick device.

I have to wonder how often would you actually use it if ever?

And the bottom line is stuff like this should be as cheap as fuck - compare a computer in 1988 to one now.

You can get a rack mounted digital delay for $100 or so.

Apparently they are looking for $580 and they can fuck off.

Compare that to a Line 6 pod or a laptop.

    Nonsense.

MSG Built to Destroy - H3000 all over it.
    MSG Live - same

Could you imagine those first pounding chords of "Photograph" without it? Nah of course not.. it's played so high up on the neck, the pitch-below was necessary in the doubletracking.

The Eventide is one of those fabled highdollar effects, like the Lexicon PCM 40 and the AMS 1540 Digital Delay - of which never shows up for sale they made so few.

The AMS is the doubler used on both Ozzy Osbourne band albums. I would shit my pants if I could have one, but I'd settle for the more common Eventide.

And like the TC Electronics, and anything else decently engineered for guitar audio, I'd expect an Eventide in a pedal to be 500 to 1000 without a blinking. I'd expect it.

I'm trying to find an example of harsh use of the Eventide, because digital short-time delays such as chorusing and doubling have to be used subtle or the highs can be piercing.

Here's a really good example of perfect use of the H3000: very little in the mix, almost used as a treble booster the way EVH uses his MXR90 as a treble boost in his solos..

I saw this tour of Michael Schenker Group, after the show I got bitched at by a big fat roadie fucker for spying on his guitar rack, and the huge knob on the Eventide is unmistakable so I know he had it.

Michael has his foot on the wah, using as a bandpass filter to scoop the mids without grunging out the bass-end, his lows are very clear but the highs ring really bright= H3000!

    I'm sold...

It's the perfect alternative to keyboards when you might need them...

And it's very Pink Floyd like...

    I'm getting one...

I had to post this in response to the clip Sesh posted...

This is the Van Halen Dave, although the Bottom Line clip isn't bad. Too bad it's such poor quality...this one too, but they still kick ass!

Did anyone here ever buy this or anything similar?

I'm looking for something to do this/octavor kind of thing but cheaper than $500.

At $300 I would buy one tomorrow, apart from the dual lead stuff which would be fun, I love the warmth of the chorus type stuff but $500 is a lot.

I'm sure I saw a cheaper equivalent where you selected the key of the song on the front of it but I'm damned if I can remember who made it.

Yes thanks, I'm going to look into it.

A third of the price of the Eventide.
