By the time the Lost Cities tour was in place, Ace went off the deep end. Psycho Circus was when it all went to shit. We all know the debacle with that album. For that tour, Ace and Peter played really badly more often than not. Ace's playing was sloppy and Peter had so much trouble keeping time. When Farewell came along, Ace and Peter's fates were sealed in Gene and Paul's mind. They simply did not want to tour with those two guys anymore. Ace and Pete constantly went between good one show and absolute shit another one.
Like somebody else said, the biggest issue with present day Kiss is the travesty of having those two other guys wearing Ace and Peter's makeup. Gene and Paul made a mistake with that. Of course, Gene will lead you to believe that when he and Paul hang it up, he wouldn't care if there were two other guys up there in the Demon and Star makeup. I'm sure he means, as long as he's still making money off it.

Say what you want about Eddie Trunk but at least he had the stones to sit down with Gene and tell him face to face that he thought it was not right that two guys are currently playing in Ace and Peter's makup. Gene made the case to Trunk that Kiss fans didn't care who was in the makeup. Basically, they just agreed to disagree but at the end of the discussion Gene told Trunk he had absolutely no problem with him having that opinion. Trunk thought everything was cool and by the next day Trunk was barred from Gene's twitter feed. That is the kind of douchebaggery you get with Gene. If Trunk was the homer everyone makes him out to be then he would carry the torch for Kiss even with the scabs playing.

Half way through Ace's book. Fantastic and very honest. A very humble and down to Earth (for a spaceman) guy. I'm glad he was my favorite growing up. I popped open Paul's book to a random page in the bookstore and pointed my finger at a sentence and it was him going on about how stupid he thought Peter Criss was. What an absolute fucking dick.

I'm also in the process of reading Ace's book. Then I'll move on to Peter's. I'm a bit more than half way through Ace's and he's just at the point where he's recording his second Frehley's Comet album. Ace's book has been a nice read. He doesn't go into long detail about things, but just quickly tells a story and moves to the next. He really hasn't been all that harsh towards Paul at all, so far. Gene gets a few jabs, but still nowhere near what Gene said about Ace. Gene mostly gets ripped for stuff that we all know- he's not very likeable. He's greedy. No sense of humour. He is a whore- Ace accuses him of being a sex addict, which I doubt Gene would argue with much.

Ace even gives Gene credit for saving his life twice. He also gives Gene and Paul credit for having that drive to get the band going in a direction....Where Ace tends to have a problem with them is the way that everything was about cultivating image rather than making music. When marketing started to be directed at younger and younger audiences, Ace started to grow disinterested with the band, and as his alcohol and drug problems worsened, he stopped caring.

Kiss Reveal ‘Kissteria’ Box Set, ‘Kiss 40′ Collection Details

by Matthew Wilkening March 20, 2014 4:06 PM
Kiss have revealed the impressive (and undoubtedly expensive) contents of their new ‘Kissteria’ vinyl box set, as well as the track list for their upcoming ’40′ compilation and the dates their individual vinyl album re-issues will be made available.

One of the selling points of the ’40′ collection is the inclusion of a previously unreleased demo from ’1977′ named ‘Reputation.’ A quick internet search has turned up an early version of the Gene Simmons-sung rocker, which you can check out above. Of course, it’s entirely possible the version on the actual album will be different.

You’ll find the extensive details on all three parts of this massive re-issue campaign — ostensibly in celebration of the group’s 40th anniversary — below. Be sure to study it closely, there will be a test later. The individual vinyl albums will be released in four phases, while the two-CD ’40′ collection hits stores May 27.

There is no set release date or announced price for the ‘Kissteria’ box set yet — but you can sign up to be notified when more details are ready. Considering each of the 30+ records included in the set are being sold individually for over $30 a pop, and the fact that Kiss put a $4,299 over-sized photo book on the market two years ago, we’re thinking this sucker’s gonna hit four figures easy. But hey, our savings account would be very happy if we’re wrong!

                        Kiss Vinyl U.S. Release Dates:

Sweet Jeesus Tap-Dancing Christ, if these boneheads would put out an EP with early Kiss artwork, black and white photos plus some commentary, and used like...fuck it, "Love Her All I Can', "Sure Know Something" and "Nothin' To Lose"...I'd buy 5 copies for $6.99 each, American.

Gene, it's not the one-time short sell. It's enticing the fan base back, while creating a new one at the same time, ya dong-head.

I love KISS, but long ago I stopped falling for the endless compilations and reissues and remasters.

There's only so many times you can sell me the same music, Gene....I don't care if I open the album and the band appears in my living room...I'm not buying another "greatest" package.

The local review actually said it was a sell-out with 20,000 there, but filled with ticket specials and Groupon deals....
