Yeah, but Tweed has the perfect trout mouth for repeated penis insertion, so why not keep flogging the dead horse known as "KISS"? It still pays well, apparently. The people still willing to pony up the price of albums and concert tickets to see the band are who Gene and Paul consider "the fans" these days. Perhaps rightly so. I mean, somebody has to keep Pauline in his designer blouses, and there's no shortage of people out there willing to lower their expectations (or just plain don't give a shit who is in the band as long as the hits are played and the stage show goes BOOM!).

Personally, I think it's more than a bit lame that Thayer and Singer are wearing Frehley and Criss's getups, but then there's nothing compulsory about going to see them live these days.

The were fairly solid until Creatures. Beyond that, outside of Revenge I could give two shits about their studio output.

The band had one of, I think, THE best rock band reunions ever with the 1996-2000 tour. Original lineup, played the tunes the fans wanted to hear, awesome production, went all over the world with it.

Probably just too much money to pass up on by actually calling it a day. I'd like to think I'd be able to say "okay, that's it" and go out with some dignity, but then again I might just keep taking the money as well. I mean, dignity was never as high a priority as making money was for KISS.

I kind of hope they do keep touring. If nothing else, I get a giggle out of seeing Paul Stanley exposing his old hairy man titties, and I imagine his daily estrogen boosters aren't cheap.

I agree......how can you fault a band that has admitted that they didn't want to be bigger than The Beatles, they wanted to be bigger than Coke or Pepsi!

'Sonic Boom' managed to grow on me a bit. I was initially let down because I thought that Ace's 'Anomaly' was so much better.

I have a bootleg of the 76 Houston concert and it looks really good, but it gets cut off somewhere in the middle of the show... it will be great to see the whole show.

I think they are releasing this in early November.
I'll probably grab the version with the 76 Anaheim show.

I hate to derail the new KISSology, but this is just awful.

    KISS JOINS MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE

The legendary rock band KISS signed up to pay tribute to Michael Jackson in an October concert that will also headline Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis, Smokey Robinson, Cee Lo Green and JLS, the promoters told CNN Monday.

Other major artists may be announced soon to round out the roster of acts for "Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert" in Cardiff, Wales, according to promoter Global Live Events.

Katherine Jackson, matriarch of the musical family, appeared on CNN Monday to discuss the show, which will also includes performances by her children and grandchildren.

It appeared unlikely the October 8 concert would be the scene for a Jackson 5 reunion, since two of the brothers, Jermaine and Randy, have publicly objected to the show being held at the same time Michael Jackson's doctor is on trial for his death.

"We want to make clear that this does not reflect the position of the entire family," the two brothers said in a joint statement after their mother and four siblings endorsed the show.

"While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael's death," Jermaine and Randy Jackson said.

Members of the Jackson family taking the stage October 8 include several of Michael Jackson's brothers, "the next generation of Jacksons," and 3T, which consists of Tito Jackson's three sons, the promoters said.

Alternative rock band Alien Ant Farm and British R&B singer Craig David are also on the bill.

"This concert will unite various generations and musical genres, reminding everyone of just how amazing a talent Michael was," Global Live Events executive Paul Ring said.

Fans can "register their interest for tickets" online at http://www.michaelforevertribute.com/ through Thursday, the promoter said. A lottery will determine which fans will be invited to purchase tickets, it said.

The concert in the Wales Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, which seats 75,000 people, would be at least four hours long, Global Live Events CEO Chris Hunt said.

A spokesman for Michael Jackson's estate said last month that the promoters never sought or obtained permission from the estate's executors to use the late pop singer's name or image.

"The estate has not been contacted and is not involved with Global Live Events in the UK tribute concert announced today," spokesman Jim Bates told CNN at the time.

    LOL!

This is what Gene said about MJ after his passing in '09:

Gotten a lot of questions from media and from quite a lot of you Re: Michael Jackson.

I have refused all media requests for interviews. There are enough people in the industry being quoted. Some altruistically, some for media coverage.

    Either way...

When I was going out with Diana Ross in the early 80's, I met Michael a few times through her. We spent social time together.
Found him to be gentle, charming...obviously very talented. And that was that.

The Michael of later years is someone I didn't recognize...nor like very much.

When there are children involved...when there are allegations (many) of child molestation...when there are admissions of inviting countless young boys to spend weekends and sometimes Michael's bed with them (Michael's quote), clothed or unclothed...makes no difference...when there are payoffs to the children making the accusations in the $20,000,000 range ($20 Million Dollars!!! -- as reported by Media) ....There's more than doubt in my mind.

This doesn't take into consideration Michael's children...none of whom are biologically his. All three of whom have had a "strange" upbringing. But then, we don't know much, except a "Father" who thought nothing of dangling his young child over the balcony (head covered in a towel), so his fans could get a thrill.

So, what's my comment Re: Michael's passing? I hope he finds peace. I wish his family and friends all the best in these very sad times.

But as regards Media coverage: celebs can always get media coverage.

But what about the children who spent nights with Michael in his bed? (he has admitted on camera he has done it many times, and would continue to do it). They need a voice. And, they should have a chance to have their say. With lie detectors attached. Maybe then, away from rich celebrities, tricky lawyers and LA court systems that can't seem to convict anyone....maybe then, we'll find out the truth about child molestation charges leveled at Michael Jackson from children (that's plural, not singular).

My comment? I recognize and respect his talent, but the rest is very tainted. And I want to hear the truth, once and for all.

This is a weird move by Paul and Gene - not only because of Gene's comments after Mike's passing but also because they've been making fun of Jackson since the 80s.

Gene wants to commemorate someone he thinks is a pedophile.

Is there anything he wouldn't do for money?

Last year, Simmons spoke about Jackson in an interview with Classic Rock magazine. "Where there's smoke there's fire," he said. "There's no question in my mind [Michael] molested those kids. Not a doubt." The Kiss singer said he "knew Michael", and "as time moved on, and no matter what my fond memories and fond images of Michael were, with one allegation of paedophilia after another and another and another – oh dear … I knew some of the musicians he toured with, and specifically one who quit because of seeing boys coming out of the hotel rooms. And then you factor in that his travel agent was put on the stand and in court said that she was authorised to fly to Brazil and bring boys back to America for him … Michael's on tape going, 'Give the kids Jesus juice.' Which is wine. I mean it's just endless."

According to TMZ.com, the promoters of the Michael Jackson tribute concert have dropped KISS from the event's billing because of negative comments KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons made about Jackson in interviews the days and weeks after his death two years ago. Simmons spoke about his suspicions that Jackson, who was acquitted of child molestation in 2005, was a pedophile.

The promoters tell TMZ.com, "We have listened to Michael's fans and are grateful to have been alerted to these unfortunate statements by Gene Simmons. Under the circumstances we fully agree that even though KISS is a band Michael admired we have no choice but to rescind our invitation to them to appear in our tribute concert."

In a 2010 issue of U.K.'s Classic Rock magazine, Gene Simmons told journalist Geoff Barton he believed Jackson was a child molester despite the fact that the singer was acquitted of child-molestation charges in 2005.

"I knew Michael," Simmons was quoted as saying. "I ran into him a few times. I met him the first time before he became the superstar, when he was sort of teenagey, when he was still a JACKSON FIVE. This was in the Cher days, when Cher and I lived together.

"But as time moved on, and no matter what my fond memories and fond images of Michael were, with one allegation of pedophilia after another and another and another…Oh dear."

Simmons went on to say that he knew some of the musicians Jackson toured with, and cited one who quit after seeing "boys coming out of the hotel rooms...Well, you know, where there's smoke there's fire. There's no question in my mind he molested those kids. Not a doubt."

Simmons also said, "There's never been a single female of any age that I've ever known about who has ever made a claim that she has had a physical relationship with Michael, ever.

"The only sexual references ever made about Michael Jackson that were made by anyone, anywhere around the world, have always been made by kids, and specifically males usually 10 to 14 years of age; never females, that age or older, and never grown men."

    Make up your mind, Chaim...

Did you meet him when you were living with Cher, or when you were with Diana Ross??

I suppose either is possible. Diana Ross was certainly close with the Jacksons. Still can't believe she was with Chaim though. Was it her, or Cher who was to blame for "Dynasty" being a goddamn disco record?

Now if Beyonce, Usher, Mariah Carey, and 50 Cent happen to show up (Yep, the same cast of boneheads that felt it was just fine to perform for Muammar Qaddafi and his family a couple of years ago), then the alarm bells should really start going off.

I don't see it that way.

They should have refused to appear in the first place but out of greed they didn't.

That makes them much worse than the people who are appearing and think Jackson was innocent.

I agree, but the odd thing is nothing appeared at the "official" Kiss site about the signing, which seems out of step with the band's (read: Simmons) propensity for self-promotion. Much like VH's recent adventures concerning Australia, you really have to wonder just what truly went on and if the band had actually signed anything in the first place. It all seems to have happened so quickly as to be nothing short of bizarre, let alone true. In fact, it all sounds like a typical bunch of internet bullshit, like the so-called Sabbath reunion that bit the dust in roughly the same amount of time after that story broke.

Why would Ki$$ be asked in the first place?

They hardly fit the bill at all for various reasons.

It was posted at their official site, that is where I saw it first. It had a link to CNN as well with the story. I saw it yesterday, looks like they took it down.

Too bad VH doesn't have the marketing tools and web prowess KISS has. Man they update their page every day, multiple times a day with info, fan input, etc.

Look how lightning fast they took down the MJ thing. That puts the ASS in KLASS!
