I like around half the songs on Animalize.I think I've Had Enough(into the fire) and Heavens on Fire are really good.I like Thrills in the Night,Get All You Can Take and Under the Gun well enough.Funny enough all Paul's songs.I agree Gene's songs are not the best on that album
I really love you baby, I love what you've got
Let's get together we can, Get hot
"Hysteria" is my favorite Def Leppard makeup album...
I hate Hot in the Shade with a passion. By far the worst KISS album followed by Sonic Boom. All the others I like. Asylum has some semi Zep flavored riffs on it. Love Eric Carr's big drums. (that's what she said)
My fav is Rock 'n Roll Over both the songs and cover. Creatures is a really bad ass album too.
This space for rent.
Last week Kiss performed for the first time in Asunción, Paraguay. It was a long wait for my paraguayans neighbours, they were a very enthusiastic audience and the show was awesome.
From what I could hear Paul's voice is sounding better than a few months back which is great. Not sure if it is just the recording quality but they could maybe turn the mic's up.Kinda funny before watching that I just finished watching a Madison Square Garden show in 77.Funny to think that was 35 years before this
I also think Paul´s voice is sounding better, after Asunción they had 3 shows in Brazil.
Today is the last show in Río de Janeiro, It will be an amazing show !!!
His voice got fucked up in 2011 which in turn made him get the vocal cord surgery to get his range back. When I saw them in September, his range was good but his voice sounded pretty raspy, in fact he was visibly straining during "Lick It Up"
But I agree that for some reason his voice is much better. I Was Made For Lovin You is heavy as fuck now that they dropped the pitch down so that Paul dosen't have to strain. But as a result, Kiss has never sounded heavier.
How do you spell pretentious? S-A-M-M-Y H-A-G-A-R
I know this sounds totally out of nowhere, but in a way. I feel really bad for Vinnie Vincent. After seeing the whole ordeal with his wife and his dogs, what Gene said about him is totally correct. He is essentially the guy that would literally kill himself while somebody is giving him the "keys to the kingdom" and honestly as much as I hate to say it, I'm surprised he hasn't topped himself yet.
One of my favorite Kiss songs of the week. Some awesome guitar
I fucking love this song. I could honestly do 2 hours of cardio to both this song and Detroit Rock City being played over and over again on a loop.
Here is another video of I Was Made For Loving You from Mexico City. Again this song just sounds badass in D, much less like a disco song and more like hard rock or heavy metal. Much better than the Sonic Boom Over Europe version where Paul didn't sing the chorus at all. Paul's voice does indeed sound like it's coming back slowly, never to the way it was in '75 but pretty close.
love Paul's new costume to hide his fat!
hope they get better until next summer...
Paul looks pretty trim to me....Not bad for a 60 year old man at all.
And he sounds like one too when he talks...

Someone on Youtube decided to start up the King Diamond vs Kiss arguments again. What I've noticed is that King Diamond and Kiss have more differences than similarities. Their musical style is totally different. Kiss pretty much dabbled in everything, but were mostly a party rock band. King Diamond is pure heavy metal and unlike the growls and grunts of other heavy metal singer, King Diamond (the guy himself) has an incredibly dynamic vocal range absolutley fucking BELTS those high notes and just blows the PA out and still does to this day!
(Paul is sounding better, but I still think he's overworking his voice because he is still having on and off days.
He sounded terrible in Buenos Aries but sounded better in Rio a few days later)
King Diamond himself does wear face paint similar to Gene Simmons' Demon makeup, which in turn caused Chaim Witz to sue him because it looked too similar. (One of the reasons why I like Paul better than Gene) And it's sad because he said in an interview that he was a huge Kiss fan.

Who the fuck would waste their time reading a washed-up drummer's book ??
I bought Peter´s book and I´m reading it, it´s so honest and brutal
KISS in the 1980s after the makeup came off...ugh.
Very little to recommend from the band on the musical front in those years. Couple of odd tracks here and there that were okay, but the only record from those makeupless years that was halfway decent from start-to-finish was Revenge.
KISS just became an average hard rock band churning out average hard rock music, especially after Kulick hooked up with them.
