    Kickass...
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

Man, i can't believe more poeple aren't interested in Steel Panther/Metal Skool. I know it is a bit of a joke, but these guys can play.

Ralph & Russ were both great in the Atomicpunks.

Now they have a major label debut with some buzz behind it out here in California. They are getting more and more clebs and press at every show down in LA lately. Hell maybe they will even get a tour out of this so they can visit all of you guys out in the sticks.

I saw Hawkins supporting Extreme a few months back.

    His new band is hellish.

Imagine The Darkness with the humor and catchy songs removed, all you are left with is the silly voice.

STEEL PANTHER Parachutes To Gig In Front Of 11,000 Fans - May 5, 2009
STEEL PANTHER, the '80s metal/hard rock tribute band formerly known as METAL SKOOL, made a grand entrance to the KUPD U-Fest this past weekend in Phoenix, Arizona. The band jumped from an airplane soaring over head and deployed their parachutes to glide onto the stage where over 11,000 fans were treated to their brand of metal.

You can check out fan-filmed video footage of the jump below.

STEEL PANTHER's debut album, "Feel The Steel", will be released on June 9 via Universal/Republic.

The group's lineup includes guitarist "Satchel" (real name Russ Parrish; ex-FIGHT) and singer "Michael Starr" (real name Ralph Saenz; ex-L.A. GUNS). Onstage, the band both pays tribute to and lampoons the heyday of '80s glam metal. The group's between-song comedy includes jests at conflict between bandmembers, discussions of drugs, sex, and improvised humor with the crowd.

STEEL PANTHER was interviewed by Metal Injection on the "black carpet" of last month's (April 7) Epiphone Revolver Golden Gods Awards at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles. Watch the chat below.

Every time I see this thread I actually think of "Sex Panther" cologne in "Anchorman"....

LOL! Kick ass tunes! Lyrics are a bit silly! I like Ralph's "I don't feel tardy" shirt! At the beginning of the first video I was thinking I was in the Hot For Teacher or maybe the Twisted Sister video! "What are you gonna do wth your life?!"

a little more info for our UK friends....

Steel Panther his touring this summer

    ++++++++++++++++++++++
Dude! If you're from England you're gonna be stoked!

We have been confirmed to perform at the Download Festival! (all the English people are freaking out right now. Others, not so much)

Download is like the biggest fucking festival over there, from what I've heard, so it will be awesome!

They pack about 50 million people into castle Donnington and crank up a bitchin' PA and all the girls are naked and there is free drugs. We are going to be the biggest Heavy Metal band in England. Bigger than Def Leppard. Well, maybe not, but at least we have all of our arms.

Also, while we are over there, we are going to get to see all the sights. like the leaning tower and the Great Wall.

If you're English, go buy a ticket!

I guess the new cd "FEEL THE STEEL" came out on tuesday June 9th. But you can't buy it in the store...WTF????? Looks like it is Itunes only right now. It is up at demoniod and a few other sites. So I DLed it.

Simply put..... it is fuckin great.

Ralph is Ralph. Suprisingly his vocals are pretty damn professional on this cd. The lyrics are all pretty funny if you get what they are doing.

Russ tears it up pretty good on lead guitar. A few good solos and riffs.

Hopefully they get some run and some record company backing so they can hit the road for a US tour this summer.

If not I will have to catch them in LA this summer @ the Key Club.

It is, but somehow I get the feeling that there's a slight difference between the album cuts and the ones found on YouTube. For obvious reasons, sure, but still...

I meant that I Downloaded the "official" studio cuts with artwork. NOT some live or low quality youtube clips.

Not sure what you meant with the difference?

    Y'know, vocals, etc...

"Turn Out The Lights", for example, has a slightly different vocal track...
"Fat Girl" doesn't have those cheesy synth-drums...

Nitpicking, I'll admit, but that's just me...

Album of the year so far!

Some of the songs seem to be particularly influenced by one band - I think this is the Whitesnake one...

They should just give them the "Album of the year" GRAMMY right now.

It was good enough. 3.5 out of 5.

I thought Cherone was pretty uninspiring though.

Paul's horrible singing, or Ralph pretending to play the Les Paul that's not even plugged in, because he doesn't know what else to do without a mic in front of him.
