Hey everybody!!! Why did it take me so long to get here? Good question! When MTV got started I was a young teen and all I can remember is that I wasn't A "Rock n' Roll" fan by no means. Grew up in a strict Baptist family. Lived out in the country in east Texas, near Athens. Had to sneak watching MTV at one of my mother's friend's house in town where they had cable. Back off in the Grandson's bedroom, watching out for an adult to come around the corner. I was captivated by this dude named, David Lee Roth. I thought," This has got to be the coolest guy on the planet with the coolest job in the world". I would have to say, Van Halen changed my outlook on life at that young age. And I thought, before I realized who Diamond Dave was, that Han Solo from Star Wars was "The Man". Star Wars had an effect on me at the age of 7, being the very first movie I ever saw at a theater. Had to get snuck to that by my older Brother. But!!!, I don't have Star Wars on my MP3 player so that I can practically watch it everyday. I have all of the Van Halen albums(with David Lee Roth)on it. And I have 45 of the songs on my favorites list; Nothing else at the time being. The songs stand test of time. Not saying that Van Halen is all that I listen to, though. Some of my other favorites are Queensryche, Overkill, Ugly Kid Joe, Avenged Sevenfold, Ayreon, Dream Theater, Candlebox, Faith No More, Pain Of Salvation, Helloween, Killswitch Engage, Kings X, Mastodon, Neal Morse, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Rush And Yes etc. It all started with HV, though. Peace to all/Wes
