What's up people!
I have lurked here for a little while but just signed up.
I'm a huge VH/DLR fan. Though I dig just about everything Ed has played on/recorded it isn't VH without DLR. Nothing is even close.
When Dave left in 85 I felt like the band I loved was dead and it wasn't until 2007 that I felt 100% thrilled about VH again(1996 didn't count though I love those 2 tunes!). I'm also a fan of Dave's solo material even the albums people call duds. Dave has such a unique style and genuine attitude which he brings with his voice/delivery... it's hard for me not to like anything he does.
I'm excited as hell over Dave being back in VH where he belongs!!! He was amazing the last tour. He really is in awesome form! I have seen Dave with VH from WACF-1984 & 2007. Saw Dave solo for EAS, SS and caught him in AC in the late 90's also.
I'm sad to see Mike out of the picture. IMO his energy, bass, and voice is a huge part of Classic VH and their sound. The loss of Mike is nowhere near the loss of Dave and having to adjust to Sam or Gary though. This is the closest thing to real Van Halen since 1985. I'm not really a hater of Van Hagar or even VH3 but as I said to me it isn't truly VH without DLR.
I'm excited for new music and the future of DLR/VH!
Some that are on the VHlinks may know me under the same screen name. I was also on the VHML in the late 90's and you may know me as Steve S. from there. Long time VH fan, long time guitarist, guitar junkie and pleased to be here!
Peace
