In the pic I posted that's what they did, mounted on a snare. Wonder how it would sound keeping the snare wires on?
Yup. I used an old Emperor X Black Dot for the bottom but tore off the coating because it was too thick. I've got a Pinstripe on the top, but I'm going to do some more adjusting tomorrow to get the best sound possible.

Ever use the Remo Fiberskyns? Used to love those heads, for the snare anyways.
Here's a cool website.

I've never tried them. I had Pinstripes for a while, then switched to Coated Emperors for a long time and recently went back to Pinstripes. I'm using the Coated Emperor X on the snare and I get a really thick sound out of it.
I use no muffling in my kick and it's earth-shattering, I love it. Last weekend, I was recording some demos at a friend's house and I tested out the kick and he came running downstairs thinking there was a gunshot or explosion.

Kwame, I like the looks of your old kit, good stuff!!
I try like hell to keep things all fluffy bunnies and pink daisies. But brutal truth smacks me in the ass all the time. ~Susie Q 2009
Dig the '87 kit there. Dude you never said you played in Anthrax!!!
But I bet your current kit sound 100 times better!
I have always used pinstripes since about 85.
So much easier to tune, No constant rings to gaffer up etc and great for the studio.
Black dot remo on the snare.
Next on the blocked-user list: please welcome, DiamondJackass!
DJ, you have won yourself a coveted position with that last post few others have attained.. know now that when I reply to a thread you decide to smart-off more of your infantile remarks, all I get to see is a stack of blocked reply's like this other worthless scumbucket:

There is no smiley afforded this award, I have officially wiped you off the browser as efficiently as if I hit the WASH button on my windshield wiper.

Holy Fuckin Shit, great drummers make great sets!!!!
Slingerland more like.
Buddy Rich also was endorsed by Slingerland during that period, 1940s-1970's.
Slingerland made the best kits but Ludwig was bigger and made better hardware.
Ludwig followed Rogers into going all-maple plys for the shells in the late 60s.
Ludwig shells were mahogany/poplar/mahogany layered plys while Slingerland's were maple/poplar/maple and could take a ding better and looked better stripped of shell wrap finished clear.
Do you ever get anything right? A fucking broken clock is at least right twice a day.
First Buddy didn't play or endorse Slingerland drums from the 40's to the 70's.
Nope, Buddy's endorsement with Ludwig was from 1946 to 1959, then went to Rodgers from 1960 to 1966, then Trixon/Vox... then Fibes... then finally to Slingerland, which lasted from 1967 to 1976. Buddy's FINAL Ludwig endosrement period was from 1977 to 1980... then he continued to use/play his Ludwig's from 1981 to 1982... but WITHOUT an endorsement deal, as Buddy and Ludwig parted company for the final time in 1980, then he got a restored set of Slingerland Radio Kings from Joe MacSweeney over at Eames, and played those until his passing.
I should note that Buddy played whatever kit he wanted, regardless of his endorsement deals.......He was, after all, Buddy fucking Rich!

Christ, can you imagine the stench her husband has to endure every night when he lifts the blanets and has to climb in with that thing?!
Wow.
Yet another thread of Gaydar "ignoring" people and katie making friends.
Has it ever dawned on either of you idiots that maybe the problem isnt with the myriad of other posters who hate you, but actually you yourselves?
I think they both LOVE the negative attention.
