Eddie Van Halen Accepts Spike TV’s Guitar God Award

The awards will air Sunday, June 21st at 10 PM (ET/PT) on Spike TV.

Rock and Roll legend, Eddie Van Halen will appear on the Spike TV's "Guys Choice" award show to accept the "Guitar God Award". Edward Van Halen in a rare public appearance was brought to tears as Robert Downey Jr. presented the award.

Nah, just some typical makeup they slap on for television appearances. Remember, mostly when we see Ed on TV it's a concert performance or interview inside his own studio. So it's not often he actually has someone slap the base on his face.

As stated in the first post this show airs this Sunday Night.

I see no reason to watch this crap, except perhaps to see Ed. I don't care what people have said, about what he looks like.

To me he just looks like some dude who happens to be the Eddie Vanhalen, I know of; for playing guitar and he is also my favorite lead rock singers, band mate.

Why you all down on his looks just looks like a normal dude and such..?

So, who is going to sit thru blobs of assinine doofasses'ness in hopes of catching some -ED- media, hoping you don't miss him due, to, the constant flipping of channels to avoid eye burning horror..?

Or do we wait for the dude who posts just the Ed clips on Tube'O'Vision..?

Well what is this answer do we establish a poll to find out the average of us who will watch this ..?

Can anyone help me find another way to word the same question with even more reasonless complete dingy verbage..?

He actually seemed sincere; especially about the bullshitting himself part. It actually seemed like Ed was prouder about actually getting sober than being a guitar hero. You can tell he's really sober because the whole weirdness he has had the last few years is gone. All I know is I'm staying the hell away from Smoking Loon wine if that is what it does to you.

The awards ceremony was funny as hell...with everyone doing shit tongue in cheek...including 80-year old Clint Eastwood (who looked younger than Ed, by the way)...who was funny as hell talking about his "Golden Balls" award...

Ed gets up there acting like he just won a fucking academy award...

I'm glad he's sober...but boy...is this guy out of touch with the real world or what...

That dude hasn't been in the real world for a looooong time. It's passed him by decades ago.

While getting choked up over some bronze antlers seems over-dramatic, he did come off as being genuinely humble. Not one of his strong points.

This is the second time I've heard him refer to his dad giving him his first drink at 12 years old.

Maybe, just maybe he's finally started to exorcise some of his demons. How far he'll get and for how long remains to be seen, as it is still EVH we're talking about.

HE still has issues. 42 years aren't going to go away in 3 months. No fucking way am I buying that he's been sober for a year.
