Dunno about genuis, or political activist and not really onboard with the St.Lennon mythologizing, but he had talent and wrote a lot of great songs.

Shame what happened to him.

I had just purchased Double Fantasy and was Down with John getting back in the studio with the Beatles. I thought if thier was ever a chance it was now so, I was hurt when he was killed.

I don't know if it was for selfish reasons or for his life that I was knocked over about or my musical wishes.

I still don't know.

I also bought Milk and Honey when it came out a couple years later.

I wasn't ,"go to the hotel and vigil" knocked out, but I was visibly upset about his death.

I don't see any of these Stars as more than just men but Lennons words however, "for the moment"were laced with a real need for some undestanding between the masses.

That just never will be.

Not denying that, it's just that those two songs are so overplayed it's annoying, though i never cared much for 'Imagine'. What gets me though is the fawning worship he gets and it's the same with Cobain.

I think if Dylan had died young
he'd also get the same treatment St.Lennon and St.Cobain get.

What also gets me is that critics seem unable to say a good word about Lennon without saying a bad word about McCartney.
