I fit into the category that this......

blows away and owns anything Dave or the remaining members of Van Halen have tried between the years 1985-2008, separately or together in one formation of the band or another.
You're really going to try and tell me that A Little Ain't Enough and She's My Machine blow that song, performance and band away......if you do then you really are an idiot......nothing is better than original, classic Van Halen.....nothing
You still don't get it, do you? hagaritas never do.
I NEVER said it was better, just that it sounds better to me.
And that while I am in a minority, nevertheless Dave still has fans that actually like some, if not all, of his solo career. Hagar don't. Doesn't. Whatever.
Anyway, can you tell me that Van Hagar blew away everything Dave did as a solo artist?
It's quite obvious for anyoned with a couple of ears, even just one, that it didn't.
Damn Hagaritas.
Cheers! :bottle:
I see DHF is ramping up nicely.....
Hagar doesn't have any fans that like his solo music? I had no idea when I called you an idiot that I was just beginning to scratch the surface of the iceberg.......I guess I should have known better being that you perfer ALAE and YFLM over CVH
Van Hagar didn't blow away everything Dave did as a solo artist......EEAS is an outstanding record
Hey Davehagar, rank your top 5 albums out of the DLR solo and the Van Hagar albums. Give me the best 5 of the whole lot. I am interested to know your opinion on this.....
RIDE TO LIVE, LIVE TO RIDE
LET `EM ROLL ONE MORE TIME
I meant anyone apart from you, shithead. The reason people know Hagar is because of Van Halen AND David Lee Roth.
If he hadn't Dave's wave to ride, noone would even remember that jackass.
Just EEAS? ALAE isn't good? Granted, it's not ALL good, but it's still much better than any Van Hagar album. Crazy From the Heat? How about DLR Band? The only problem there is Dave's vocals on SOME songs, but most of it is pure jaenious. World's best Demo, easily.
Hell, even Diamond Dave is miles better than any Van Hagar album.
And of course, you could NEVER hope to understand YFLM. Hagaritas just don't have the IQ for it. One of the best albums out there - fuck the sales - with its diversity, lyrics, and overall good music. It just gripes me that it wasn't Dave's best band in there, not for miles.
YFLM is too good for you, Hagarita. Steer away from it. You'll never get it, you're just too stupid.
I just wonder how She's My Machine and Big Train, maybe even Nightlife would've sounded with Becker's guitar on them...
Just too good for you.
Cheers! :bottle:
I like YFLM in a lot of ways, but this is better...
I hate to have to do this...

Come on DH, the crickets are chirping. Give me your list.
Damn.....that's going to be tough. Some of these probably aren't the best but they are my favorites and are way better than ALAE and YFLM
1-Skycrapper...for the title track and Damn Good alone. I'll give it an 8 out of 10
2-EEAS...not as good as CVH...close but it still ain't CVH no matter how many VH fans want to claim it is. A solid 9..it would be a 10 if Al, Ed and Mike were on it and sounded more like a cross between VH II and Fair Warning...scratch that it'd be an 11+ with the CVH guys and some better songs
3-5150.....for me it's a tough choice between this and Balance I find Balance to be underrated. A solid 9...would be a 10 with a different song besides that piece of shit Get Up...Bejesus that song sucks
4-OU812....call me nuts but I like this one the guitar riff in B&B is huge and Classic Ed....a solid 8...well maybe a 7 1/2......Sucker In A 3 Piece is really bad. A Political Blues is meh
5-DLR Band...not perfect but a great effort by Dave it put a smile on my face when I put it in my cd player. I would have liked to have seen Dave follow through with doing his own label and seen him start playing more material from Fair Warning and WACF but he didn't. I think it's a solid 6 out of 10.
Skyscraper with all of it's faults....no Billy, bad production, a Tuggle-synth driven Dave record....is actually quite good. Dave's voice is still great too way better then how he sounds on records that followed. Skyscraper and Damn Good are the best songs Dave ever did after leaving Van Halen. I also like Perfect Timing, Hina, Bottom Line, Knucklebones and JLP alot.
For the record I Hate F.U.C.K. about much as I hate YFLM. I think both records suck incredible amounts of shit. I do like one or two songs off F.U.C.K. but Van Hagar deserves the bland, boring tag they get from alot of people with this one.
I don't hate ALAE...it has it's moments. It's better than F.U.C.K. but it's still a shit record mostly. It's better than YFLM but that's not saying much

With all of the music available in the world at any given time... why someone would intentionally choose to listen to anything that Hagar is involved with is simply beyond my comprehension.
if you're going to be posting here...the long nightmare has just begun.
I could change my name to Ex-Hagar Fan and start denouncing all things Hagar
In all seriousness.....I'll stop posting here once the original lineup pulls it's head out of it's own ass and starts touring again on a real reunion tour with the setlist to end all setlists.....
So, what you're saying is that if EEAS wasn't EEAS, it would be better?
As in, if the Roth Army wasn't Roth Army it would be better?
Or even, if an orange wasn't an orange it would taste better?
That AND the fact that if it was EEAS but Ed, Al & Mike played on it, it would be better? Because, you know, it's not how it sounds, it's whoever's playing on it.
You're confused. Confusing. Confusinged?
I'm a very opinionated guy. When someone talks about quantum physics or soccer, I shut up. 'cause I have no idea what they're talking about, and don't want to look stupid trying to talk about something I don't understand.
Maybe you should consider that.
Oh, I have no doubt Dave was somewhat of a fan of Jackson. Being a frontman himself, it's only natural that he'd look at other frontmen, always trying to improve. And yes, pedophile as he was, Jackson could put on a show. No wonder Dave would watch. He still was a pedophile, though.
As for being a fan of Fergie, Stefani or Beyonce... who gives a fuck?
I'm a hardcore old school Heavy Metal/Hard Rock fan, and you wouldn't believe some of the shit I enjoy. Evern if the general catalogue of such and such artist sucks, there may be a good song there, and I'll listen to THAT song. I'll even give you an example - I listen to The Bee Gees' I Started a Joke. Yeah, I do. Just that song, nothing else. I hate everything else.
I'm also a huge, rabid, Neil Diamond fan, and will fight anyone to the death who talks shit about the guy. There's more to his music than just the radio hits.
Bottom line: it doesn't matter what you listen to, as long as you listen to it with your ears, not someone else's.
Cheers! :bottle:
Pleasure's all mine, my friend.
And since I'm also a huge Cooper fan, first round's on me.
Cheers, bro! :bottle:
That is definitely an interesting list. I'm not sure how you rate Skyscraper as number 1 with an 8 out of 10 and then put EEAS as number 2 with a 9 out of 10. Nevertheless, it is a trip to see anyone put Skyscraper at the top of any list so i have to give you a hand. I can't relate to putting Van Hagar in front of any DLR but you probably saw that coming. That being said, you weren't afraid to throw it out there anyway. So, again i have to give you your props. You seem pretty level headed despite all the shit that has been thrown at you so i must say you are not easy to bash. Don't go sending me any friend requests but you're alright in my book.
Billy Sheehan IS on Skyscraper...
Almost all of it in fact.
While the facts may well bear that out of the last two "Van Halen" tours, the Roth-fronted version of the band performed better commercially, it's really of little difference...least to me.
Shit, even if the record-sales figures were such that Van Hagar had outsold CVH, well, what does that mean? Not much. For me, it's the way I react to the music that defines the bottom line in terms of my own appreciation.
Despite the amount of tickets sold, in my opinion Ed's playing on the 2007-2008 tour was probably the weakest he has ever displayed live, and the large gross the tour generated doesn't change that. Best of my recollection (not having looked up the sales figures in quite some time) the 5150 album outsold Fair Warning. Doesn't make a dent in my preference between the two.
Scramby eggs and bacon.
From what I've seen he was a lot worse during the Hagar reunion.
As far as the sales stuff I agree with you up to a point - Celine Dion has sold a lot of albums. Its worth setting out sales figures in detail though because Hagar lies about it all the fucking time as do his fans.
Both for the same reason that deep down they know that the CVH music is what is what is lasting and has the real artistic merit and influence whether they like it or not.
So if you take away the sales argument from Van Hagar, the false argument that it may not be innovative but it was more popular, then you are pretty much left with nothing. Van Hagar becomes a musical cul de sac - a non event, and waste of time for everyone involved.
But we knew that already, it's just handy having the ammo easily available to prove it to the mid western housewives/VH Links posters as required.
That's funny because it's probably true.
In that case.....

Seriously man, I'm glad you showed up. You take shit, you give it back, you have your opinion....although it's usually WRONG....but you give it and deal.
With less than dick coming out of Camp David Lee you might as well hang out here and . It's much more entertaining than watching that brain-dead pollip on a troll's ass called Letsrock struggle with more than 1 two syllable word per post.
