Ozzy will be performing tomorrow, Saturday August 22nd at the Anaheim Convention Center as part of the closing ceremonies at BizzCon '09. I think that may have been the first concert for some of those kids. Hell it may have been the first time they have left a computer screen in a while, so cut them some slack. Also since it was the sound from the soundboard, it might not have picked up all the crowd noise.

Could be...or maybe they gave him a copy of a live set and told him to play it verbatim. Seems like he's throwing in more than even Zakk did though, which is just annoying.

I think we all agree here. Jake was great in 1984. AND his version is far ahead of Gus G's version from Saturday, and really from any of Zakk or Joe Holmes versions as well.

BUT it is now 2009. I doubt Jake could play like that anymore either.

We will see if Gus G can get any better as he should have some more time to work on it, as Ozzy doesn't have any tour plans right now.

I don't think Gus is going to be a permanent member, either...Joe Holmes had a style that didn't fit with the audiences (the whole grunge/sludge look) and, excellent guitarist that he is, he found his way out the door and Zakk came back...then there was the whole Steve Vai thing, too...

Through it all, Zakk always seems to find his way back into the fold. My guess? Gus was told what to play and how (ZAKK) to play it.

Unfortunate, because I'd much rather see Ozzy doing something with somebody who's going to do something different, not just color by numbers. Then again, of course, the time for Ozzy being groundbreaking, fresh and innovative musically has LONG since been gone...
