    "Time" Lyrics...Is Sammy Hagar Retarded?

    WTF, mates?

It's a "bi, big, big time and prime time we laid it on the line because it's oh so fine?!@#!@?#!?~@#?!!???"

Oh god, this is the worst thing I have ever heard.

I agree that the settings on Eddie's gutar sound good - it's LOUD...but once Mr. Hagar kicks in with those lyrics and shit-aweful non-melodies...it's over Johnny.

I was at the gym the other day and they played it on the radio and even these two teenage girls were making fun of it for half a sec when they caught the lyrics.

Later I went home and pleasured myself to them.

What a mess of an attempt at a song.

And now...a mess on the floor of my shower.

have you heard it much on the radio, steve?

i heard 98 rock play it once, but that's it.

even though we all knew by the time that MWM was released that the band was broken up again, they still, at least initially, played it a bit.

Sammy says: prime time, it's the right time, big time, lay it on the line, it's so fine, drop a dime, buy a lime, clean the grime, and the crime, hear the clock chime, 'cause it's about time...about time....about time.....about (BOOM!) THUG!

Dave says: Welcome to Mean Street, Motherf***er!

I thought I heard on the Howard Stern show, Sammy say that the lyrics for "Up for Breakfast" was about his gay lover getting a hairy giant erection each day, before they got out of bed, and that's what's "Up For Breakfast"

Howard had to bleep some of this out and started laughing, but.......

    Did anyone else hear this??????

Yea i know what ya mean the lyrics suck. He could never write lyrics like Dave his are kick ass

He got a hat full of sugar
Folks said, "You a lucky man"
    One night he just disappeared
And all we found was his hat
    in a clearing
    Down by the 7-11
Folks cried, someone said he died
But I know Joe didn't go to heaven

    Now those are lyrics!!!!!

Hey dudes, here in big ole Baton Rouge, the local rock station 93.7 played it about 5 times today. Getting pretty good airplay here. Alot of people are requesting it. One of the dj's named Gonzo, said after it was over, that the song kicked butt, but the lyrics were bad. then he started talking about the lyrics to summer nights, and how run of the mill those were to.

Dave has written bad lyrics, but never "retarded" lyrics.

    "Counter Blast" for example...
yeah, the lyrics don't work - it's Dave trying too hard to sound hip with the net jargon. the lyrics fail to be as humorousy hip as they were intended to be, but at least they were a good stab at being creative and it was something a little different and singular to Dave's eccentrically hyper personality.

Dave occasionally writes poor lyrics, but beneath the facia, you can tell the guy, for all his faults, is generally a knowledgable and intelligent guy - when he sets his mind to it, he writes kick-ass, creative, funny, ironic, meaningful, fun, soulful lyrics....either simple and fully of personality or complex stuff that you're still thinking about 10 yearrs later. Whether it's something as personality-driven as "Could This Be Magic?" or as thought provoking as "Filthy Little Mouth", "Land's Edge", or Doggtown Shuffle", Dave at the very least uses particular accents, pitches, volumes, vowel sounds ("can't you see what I meeeee-eeeean?" - using the "e" vowel sound to emote angst, for instance) to show emotion. At his best, he uses all those simple touches in addition to a web of lyrics that tell a story with multiple points of view.

When Sammy tries to be deep and serious a-la, "Feelin'" - you laugh at him and feel sorry for him, because they guy just...doesn't read or think and it;s plain obvious.

..."Black is white, and white is black, we've got politicians smoking crack.

    John Paul's all bulletproofed...
(Sam takes breath for you to feel his frustration)
and it puts me through the roo---oof!!!"

No...and as a Roth fan since 1978 I can honestly say that any...and I mean ANY Roth song, with or without VH, can not only 'stand up' but also tower over ANYTHING Hagar's written to date.

Honestly, how could anyone (even a Hagar fan) defend this ??
Was Sammy taught English at School ? He always seems short of descriptive words over one syllable in length..

Actually, I guess Im being a bit harsh with the one syllable deal. Afterall he did compose these timeless lyrical gems,

    "Higher and Higher"

Theres two, two syllables words in that short line.. The Aliens must
have accidentally uploaded a second grader's comprehension of English on that particular day

That's right.....a fan since 1978. I remember seeing the video for 'You Really Got Me' and it seriously scared the sh** outta me.

My friends at school snapped me out of it, and also got me into KISS, Led Zeppelin, Supertramp, RUSH and Rod Stewart.
