I dunno about this whole "Andy is a pederast" thing. Yeah, some of the clumsy way he has chosen to put his point across leads you to scratch your head, but essentially, what he initially said makes sense: Kids are capable of sexual awareness. Yes, the point is controversial, mainly because the very people he is offering this opinion to just happen to have children themselves.

The exploitation of those children is a very different thing. To this, I honestly believe that "Andy" was putting things within a context like this: You are sitting in a bar, and a guy hands you a photograph. He asks you "Waddya think of this chick?". You look at the photo, shrug your shoulders and say "Yeah, she's cute". Then the guy tells you that the girl pictured is in truth 14 years old. And almost immediately, you feel sick to your stomach.

And that is pretty much the point. Being attracted to something and acting upon that impulse are two drastically different things. The majority of us would feel disgusted at ourselves for our initial gut reaction. The real harm comes from the handful of sick dorks that ask about the pictured child's availability.

Ultimately, I believe that was the point Andy was attempting to make: It is male human nature to be drawn to a certain sexuality, regardless of age. And yes, that takes a certain amount of balls to say, considering what a hot button, more often than not reactionary response you are going to get for stating it.

The truth is, he made his point in a ham-fisted, "I'm smarter than you" manner, and pretty much shot himself (along with his argument) right in the foot. And that's a shame, because the notions he expressed about human frailty were good and valid ones. As such, I don't believe that it is fair to label someone as a pederast for pointing these things out. At no point did the guy say he wished to nail some 13 year old kid, he simply pointed out the ways and means of why some people in our society might wish to do so.
