Faster freaking Pussycat!

I love this band, although their last album, The Power and the Glory Hole is a huge disappointment of goth rock and techno rock. Have to wonder how silly the chicks dancing in front of the stage feel about their "performances" in this one? Great song from a great album.

Flashback to 1988

A young Jackassrock is driving home from a graduation party and decides that coasting down the mountain road in neutral onto the double lane in his Renault is a great idea. I was gonna see how far I could coast from the momentum (actually I was trying to break Toby Bruce's record for distance that had been set earlier that year). I had a good shot too cause my gigantic guitar amp and 2 guitars were in the back giving just the right amount of added weight. The only obstacles in my path being the merge onto the main road, and the 25mph curve at the bottom of the hill.

Long story short, I never made it to the merge. My car launched off the curve Duke boy style into the woods where the front end crumpled up turning the car into a sort of V shape. My BC Rich was not in a case and smashed against the windshield breaking the neck in two places. My Peavey VTM, WAY fucked up as was my T-60.

But, Smash Alley was still rocking strong out of my tape deck.

I didn't break any records that day, but I did get a heaping helping of irony at the hands of Faster Pussycat.

I have to admit I have played this song live on a number of occasions. Also did Bathroom Wall from time to time.

They are spectacularly easy to play.

They were cool for a Summer.

I saw them in about 1989 and thought it was a great show.

Funny thing was I got a boot of that exact gig a couple of years later and they didn't sound so good.

I suppose you had to be there in the moment.

I guess I agree Bin, in that the debut was so fucking classic, it had to all be downhill from there, but Wake Me When It's Over was very good and Whipped was strong as well.
