Don't get me wrong...I enjoyed it well enough for what it was, and it was impressive considering their age - I'm not such a venal shit that I'm gonna rag on a couple of kids for doing a cover tune - and, as you say, nothing wrong with covering some good old rock and roll.
After a dozen years of seeing youtubers covering good old rock and roll tunes, I'm just waiting for a new wave of rock and roll, where the youtubers take their influences and create anew. I know somewhere that must be happening with some band...maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, or maybe that genre isn't getting the exposure it once did.
Maybe I just need to capitulate and become a Swiftie. Better that than watch what's left of the Strolling Bones churn out Satisfaction for the 10 millionth time.
Whatever. I'm getting old and cranky.
